Yeah the videos werent too good. My friend took them and instead of following me as I went up the dunes, he jerked the camera around alot. Ill take some better ones in Colorado when I leave for vacation tomorrow. But the pics turned out great.

I left it blank because I did not know what to say about the videos. Maybe this. Fill in the blank. The videos where _______.:icon_rolleyes:
I was talking about the point of the videos (sorry if you misunderstood). Maybe I'm just cynical. And what was with all the cursing? I don't mind it but the youngest person on the forum is like 16! Don't force it on them man. There is a reason we semi censor our comments you know. At least give em a warning! Photo #9 is a pretty good example of the front aspect ratio of the FDII though.

Oh. Ok, well sorry I did not understand Sigpnut, and I really did not mean anything bad about the videos, that why I just left it as that. Like I said, the pictures were great! Sorry for any confusion, if any.:smiley_thumbs_up:

great pics!!! we're planning a trip up to the Dunes State Park on Lake Michigan this spring or summer.....can't wait! maybe even I'LL have some pics to post like that in my COMPASS!!! :D

Yep. I have a 4x4 manual 5-speed. It is terrific on the beach and in the dunes. It likes my ranch and the low water crossings also. It is rather interesting that the first gear on the manual is about 16.5:1, which is close to the 19:1 for the low end of the CVT2.

I do wish Jeep would add a 6th "low-low" manual gear at 25:1. That would cover it all. With the current 5 speed, there is a lot of clutch work for challenging low speed off road situations.

I BELIEVE IT'S ILLEGAL TO DRIVE ON THE DUNES, DUDE!!!

This is how trails get closed and areas completely made offlimits to EVERYONE!

Interesting. I was curious if the bumpers being so low and aerodynamic, would scoop up any sand. I saw sand draining back out on one photo.

Nice pics.

Other than the swearing, we call that type of photography Lewie-vision, at my house. My dad ran out and bought one of the first video cameras available back in 1978. It was the size of a toaster and weighed as much as a plump dachshund. In addition to the camera, thare was a "portable" VCR that weighed 30 pounds that you had to sling over one shoulder. Anyway, we have countless hours of home videos of,...... at the ground, at the sky, at the subject, ground, oops forgot to turn it off, sky, pan way too fast, sky, subject, ground, dark, subject......and so on. Your friend is not alone. ;)

I'm not sure you will be able to do this at The Dunes. I'm pretty sure they do not allow motorized vehicles on the beaches--except to launch boats.

I'll find out for sure. I'll email my buddy who lives by the lake and find out.
