I know in most scenarios (depending on how well it's applied) it stays on for a long time and is durable. If it isn't applied well enough it'll peel easily

Plasti dip holds up surprisingly well, very durable circles!

Stock Firestone Affinity with my newly painted stock 17s
I was thinking about trying this again. The thing I hate though is that the dip is darker than the tires so it looks really strange.. If I was to do this again I think i would only pain the inside of the wheels and not the trim. Kind of like the other alloys that came on the Patriot. Any ideas???

If you buy from DipYourCar.com, you can buy a Charcoal Gray (which is what I did) and it's a happy medium between gray and black. I bought the metalizer kit to make it look more gun metal-ish but their actual kit labelled gun metal looked like a primar gray and I didn't like that look. It's only available through DipYourCar.com so yea, that's an option for you!

Yeah, the metalizer was a giant rip off. Same with the clear coat. Theres 4 cans of each sitting in my garage. Garbage. Thats what I have to say to metalizer and clears.

I feel like you have to lay down really thick layers to get the right affect. I am only going to do two layers ontop of the charcoal gray to give it a granite/charcoal texture but keep the matte look

Hey Kenny do you think there will be a bad contrast between your plastic skirting and your plastic dip? Oh well I guess it wouldn't matter to much since you have a grey Jeep anyway.

I expect them to match pretty well since its not black but it's not too light

I don't know but I'm tempted to use white PlastiDip on my steelies since my Wrangler is white lol I think that'd be a bit much though so I'm probably not gonna do it.

It would be very storm trooper-ish which would be sweet if that's the way you've themed your rig but I know I'm not going that route so I'm choosing to go with a charcoal gray w/ metalizer kit. Already bought the kit so just waiting to get new tires mounted in several, several, SEVERAL months before I dip them

Patriot Rim/Tire Combinations Photographs with a Wrangler thrown in for good measures. Gotta get over the Patriot as you now have a Wrangler. Maybe Other Jeeps section ? You love this www.jeeppatriot.com but maybe you're a bit confused. Patriot and Wrangler or Wrangler and Patriot, coulda woulda shoulda kept the Patriot. You're off base on base then off base ?

Uh? I'm talking about dipping wheels that just so happen to be on a Wrangler. I don't think conversations about wheels have to be specific to only Patriots on a Patriot forum.
