I know the last weekend in July is no good for Dixie, but just thought I'd toss this out there....

A group of primarily Commanders and Grand Cherokees get together every year in some part of the country for what they call "The Ultimate Jeep Summit". This year it is in Silverton Colorado 7/22 - 7/26. I believe most will arrive on 7/21. I know they are staying primarily at the Red Mountain Motel & RV Park (1-888-970-5512) in spaces 11, 12, 13, 14, 23, 24, 25. They say that they welcome all Jeeps. I don't know if they have decided what trails they are running yet. Last year they went to Moab, here's their photo thread.

I was thinking it might be cool if the two groups joined up.

If you guys go to Moab, I expect a video of a Patriot doing Wipeout Hill.

Hmmm that's kind of a week or so after what I was thinking but I'll need to look into that. And without a crazy lift, I doubt a RRO lifted Pat can do that sad to say? Lol

Easy there AIC, your outgrowing your Patriot already! Well, it's been good having you on the forum... :D

Congrats on the news!
Nah, we're going to be done with 3. and we've fit 3 car seats in the patriot before, and my son is almost in a booster anyways, and my daughter is just about ready for a non infant car seat, just a regular rear facing. so that will make lift a lot easier.

I'm 3 hours from Moab. If any of u guys want to have a little patriot pack to fend off the wrangler thugs I think we can make a go at it.
Moab does have interesting scenery but the slick smooth faced terrain might not be as fun to do in a patriot as some of the cool mountain trails. There are literally a hundred narrow skinny little rocky jeep trails that are within an hour or so from there that would be awesome patriot trails.

Yea Jdog! You come too! And I agree it'd be tough for a stock FDII Pat let alone a FDI ... But those of us who are planning on going are also planning on having a lift and sliders as a minimum, and in my case new tires as well. So we may have a better chance at the obstacles w/ 4x4 engaged. Maybe just do the one day of lower end trails at MOAB and then travel out to those trails you're talking about? BTW, since you live that close I'm gonna hold you to coming with me and 'Circles next year for sure! :D

Hey Jdog, you should do the Easter Jeep Safari this year and give us details of what trails we realistically could or couldn't do lmao this years dates are March 23-31st so I'm wondering if next years will be the same. Their main webstie is here; http://www.rr4w.com/index.cfm

*Edit: I made an account on their website so I cna get details easier and whatnot for next years run.

If you get a WJ I'd die! That's my dream trail rig cause they're big and powerful (in some cases) and it's easier to swap a Hemi into a WJ than a XJ :p

Well, we have to get something that will fit the 3 car seats in, and want a jeep. We were looking at xj's which are easier to build but after my last run, I have mad respect for the grand cherokee:

and you can pick up a nice one for about 3k.

Yea that ZJ is the best looking one I have seen imo! I think it's just the fender flares, I havent ever seen one with fender flares like that.

Seems like a good choice to me. Theres so many wj's and xj's etc around here but nobody goes crazy. The only nice jeep ive seen around here was the wayalif jk from project-jk. There child must go to usf. It was down here the first of the semester, but its been gone since.

Sweet!

I am also starting up my own business making wooden furniture
Good luck, if I can help let me know. Also, let me know if you want some Burls.

LMAO, I have seen folks selling logs as "Rustic stools" and I know a guy who makes his living making those deer for the yard out of logs and sticks.
