The snow and salt are coming my way I thought of getting the Deluxe Splash Guards made by Mopar for my 2011 pat. I would like to know if these are worth the $80~ (per set or 4) they cost or are mostly just for looks. Please let me know your experiences with these. Also, how much they affect ground clearance.

This is one of the first thing I bought when I got the Patriot. Since it was brand new, I felt the need to protect my baby from whatever, be it stones or other debris. So far, no road debris damage or issues with the guards themselves. They say to make a drill point into the fender for the front pair so as to keep them tighter to look like part of the trim, but it really isn't necessary. I don't like the idea of going through the paint. And they totally make the pat look cool.

I think other member could help you out with clearance questions. I don't do much with heavy trails.

I haven't had any issues with mine and they definitely keep the bulk of the road crud off the paint. Mine a 3 years old at this point and still look great. Drove through plenty of snow with them too but not much off roading. They do collect some fenderbergs but a light tap of the boot always cleared mine.

The front guards have a place for two holes drilled into the metal front fender. I only drilled the top most hole to limit the number of holes (the other mount points re-use existing screws). But I also painted touch-up paint into the drilled hole and the provided screws have some sealer on them to help fight corrosion. The rears screw into the plastic bumper, so no worries there, drill and screw away.

I have a set of the front molded MOPAR splash guards. $49 shipped from Amazon in 2011.

They keep the crud off the side of the PAT. So far, no issues.

I have a set of the rear molded splash guards in my Amazon shopping cart. Someday I will purchase them.
