I got a 2012 sport in March. Has 9k miles.

My low tire pressure light came on last week. I filled up all 4 tires to 35 PSI. Light stayed on for a few days. At the end of the week i was due for an oil change and took it to my shop. They changed the oil, and asked about how long the light was on. I told them a few days, and they said that they filled them up some more and it should go off after I drive for 20 minutes.

Well, 350 miles later (including a 200 mile stretch non-stop) the light is still on.

Is there a reset or anything? I know the tires are NOT low.

Thanks guys.

I have a 2011, and I got a flat a few months ago. I removed a roofing nail from the tire, plugged the hole and the tire, put 32 psi of air in it and the light stayed on. I bumped it up to 38 and it still didn't go away. I dropped the pressure back to 32 and haven't had a chance to take it to the dealer.

FWIW, ours came on on our 2012 a couple days ago (~2k miles). It was fairly cold out but, tire pressures were above 30 psi all around according to the crappy gas station gauge. I bumped 'em up to 35 psi and the light didn't turn off for almost 30 miles at highway speeds.

I've never seen one take that long to register before - on different cars it has reset within a few blocks. Although, I haven't gotten around to putting on a more accurate pressure gauge on 'em yet to see how bad the gas station gauge was.

I have the EVIC with tire pressure monitoring, and I noticed when I rotate tires or adjust the pressure, it takes a few minutes of driving for the correct pressure to show. I even put the spare on once to check my tire pull, and while it was on dashes appeared instead of the pressure. Once I put the tire with the sensor back on, the dashes went away within a few minutes of driving.

My xB had a reset button for after replacing a tire if the low pressure light wouldn't go out, but the Jeep seems to be a little easier since I just fill it up and it changes back. My disclaimer here is that I've only watched the pressure changes through the EVIC... I have yet to actually see the low pressure light some on in the Jeep... it may behave differently than the EVIC

I have a 2010 which I purchased used. A few weeks into having it my low tire light came on, however after checking the tire pressure several times in all four plus the spare, we never could find the problem. We even over inflated just to see if that would solve the problem. Took it to the dealership and it ended up being a bad wheel sensor. Not sure if that's the problem with yours but definitely something to consider.

My TPS and the red alarm light (Above and to the right of the temp gauge) keep coming on intermittently on mine, for about the last 2 weeks. They come on, go off, come back on, several times on a drive, and then I might not see either for a few days, then it returns.

Oh, and I have no alarm on mine either, and the tire pressure is ok, I checked all 4 tires.

My tire pressure light was on in my Patriot, as was my wife's in her Chrysler 200. I took my air compressor and inflated the tires to 1-2 lbs. over what they are supposed to be inflated to. The tire pressure lights went off in both vehicles before we drove any at all.

Take it in. If the pressure is correct, the TPMS sensor most like failed. Mine died at 30k. These things area always crapping out on all makes and models. The low pressure light should go off within minutes of driving if pressures in all 4 tires are correct.

my Jeep has been doing the same thing lately, tire pressure is correct, it must be one of the four sensor going bad, does someone know if you can desactivate the tpms by going into the computer programming, if so ,i guess only the dealer can do it.

Maybe try lowering pressure to 23 or 25, drive a mile or so, then fill it back up to 35? It might be enough to reset it

Mine is like Dixie, light comes on stays on a while then goes off for a week or two then back on .... ??? I think it is on a timer and Jeep just wants you to go out and check your tires every couple of weeks.

Usually I'll only see my light come on early in the AM, especially as we move into winter. If I fill the tires at the curb, the light usually goes out without any driving. If I just drive and heat up the tires, the light also goes out as the pressure increases from the heat.

I'd say that's typical (losing air pressure) if in an area like mine where the temps last week went from highs in the upper 70's to highs in the 40's in a day. Temps drops will drop the air pressure.

Both the same could mean they were even and just above where they needed to be, and then temps dropped some and they both went below the pressure to set off the TPS
