So I went in there today preparing to fight, and they were extremely nice about the issue. I spoke with the service manager, and the asst service manager, and both of them were very shocked on everything that's been happening, and they cant believe it. When they saw the 2 videos they couldn't believe how it acted, and then its normal again. They think they know whats wrong, but they wanna do some long diagnostics. They have me a 2013 dodge caravan with the power sliding doors and gate, and I honestly cant put down the remote, I feel powerful, LOL! But all in all it went smooth, and they even said they don't know when it will be ready, so they know there's some work to be done.

Well done. Sounds to me as if the Service Department is looking out for you. I hope all continues to go well.

Here was my list of complaints:
Went in twice for alignment issue
Bluetooth receives calls but doesn't send them
Long cranking time
Keyless works when it wants too
Fuel chugging
Remote starts when it wants too
Drivers side tail light does not work on remote keyless, but on blinker and headlight
Power door locks, lock whenever they want too
Blinkers blink 2-3 times faster than normal at times
Brakes squeal

I had a video for the blinkers, and tail light.

They contacted me yesterday and said they found a bent terminal in the drivers side tail light socket, that caused the fast blinking and non working remote tail light. They are replacing my brake pads with new ones, which came in today. A TSB bullentin was found to update the module for the fuel and long cranking issues. Have not found the reason for the power locks yet. But the mechanic that is working on my jeep was allowed to take it home with him, so he can drive it about 30 mins away from home and back, to make sure its running good, and so he can test it out even more, and see if the power locks do its thing. Thats where we sit as of now. It seems that I may get it back friday, but we will see. Thanks guys for asking.

Back to mileage.....fuelly now in sig.

Not bad, only 4 fill ups so far, and this last was by far my worst mileage so far (24.9). Still almost a solid 3 mpg over EPA combined numbers, with about 2/3 of my miles being city mileage.

So an update..... It seems to be doing much better. The car as a whole seems to be running smoother. Locks seem to be locking at speeds 15-25mph, like they should. Startup seems good, and remote is working good. Its been about 6 days now.

Now as far as fuel. I dunno if the update really helped, but when I got the car, I put gum out, and Shell V-power, to help clean the motor. Ive heard now(after doing) 93 should not be used in the motor, But I had an 11 sentra that was new to 12K, recommended 87, and was 93 since day one, and no problems. What does every one think about the 93?

Anyways, back to MPG. I filled up friday, and about 140 miles driven, and im just shy of half a tank. seems to me im getting my old mileage back (which is a good thing). Thats about 40-50 more miles from my last half a tank, which was driven at 100 miles.

As others have written, don't go by what your fuel gauge says, it's not linear and not very accurate until the last quarter tank or so...if even then.
I dont really go by it, but ive noticed that before, I was always hitting 100-110 half a tank, so half now is 140-150, its improved so far. I prolly wont have an update on a full tank till next week. But I dont ever go by a partial tank, just wanted to give an update

Just got my worst mpg...19.9.....on the last five or so gallons.
Wanted to top off after sandy n before incoming noreaster.
have never done better than 25ish combined. Not great.

I hope the jeep spirit can do slightly better or i will have to consider the cx5 awd for the wife.

Guess i will have keep my for a bit but a second 'riot is not worth considering ....imo.

got my mpg to come up about 2 to 3ish.

removed both basket and cross bars. still on winter blend so, the reduction of weight and improve aerodynamics must be the reason.

again as a daily driver needing to cover about 80 miles round trip, I will suggest the cx5 awd to the wife. in addition, how can u beat the bose sound system and the lux appointments are very nice....also heard the 2014 model will up motor size to 2.4 or 0.5 as well as increasing hp without the expense of mpg.

I doubt the new 'Cherokee' will beat those highlites or compete at price point.

Interested to read any updates since it's been a couple of months here....
Mpg is still not good at all. Im about to hit 6000 miles, and its still in the 20-22 range. The bluetooth hasnt been updated yet. The remote and locks work better, but not 100%. I have noticed the 2.0 motor is becoming smoother, and more responsive as we rack up miles, plus it seems like im getting to 45mph faster in the same RPM range. Right now its just the fuel, and the bluetooth. Here is my fuelly report. http://www.fuelly.com/driver/patriot12/patriot

I'm glad the Jeep is improving for you in general, but a bummer on the mileage. When I have a little more time later today, I'll send you my guide on how to update your bluetooth, along with the newest update file (if I can find it)

Thanks, and will appreciate lots!! The dealer said that the update would be available in Nov 2012, but I haven't been back sense Oct. And yes as a whole, the Pat is really doing much, much, much better!!! I have my sense of security/trust back knowing that it starts when its supposed too, and runs good.

I am pretty happy with the improved MPG after I installed the K&N filter and new spark plugs. I am consistently getting 27MPG (city/highway-40/60).
What kind of plugs? Ill do them at about 25K, which is about 2 years from now, lol. But ive been interested in the K&N air filter, but I heard someone say that its not as effective on the 2011 and up, and im not sure about that.
