I've only owned my 08 Pat 5speed FI North a few days and already I have the dreaded leak. It's been raining a couple a days now, and the carpet on the driver's side is the wet side of damp. No sunroof and no water or stains anywhere else. I removed the kick panel, dry. I felt under the plastic threshold/doorsill and felt damp metal/insulation under the carpet but no real clue of where to look for point of entry. Most 'leak' posts I've read relate to the sunroof/map light/rear wiper sprayer. Am I first with this problem? My next step is to remove the outside plastic piece on the A pillar and slap it full of silicone. Might even do the roof trench on the same side. Does the plastic piece just pull off? Hopefully it'll be something simple. I recall seeing a post referring to the firewall at the windshield? Where exactly? Anyone had this problem and can offer a positive search point or fix? Here's hopin'! If I manage to cure this, count on me posting a how to.

Yea, check the rubber drain tube by the gas pedal. It goes through the floor and I'll bet it's clogged.

here is a picture to help you along.

Careful when taking the drain hose off the HVAC housing, there could be quite a bit of water backed up in there.

If this is the problem they sell tablets in home heating stores that you push into the housing that prevent the water from growing the slime that starts the clogging issue. Maybe Home Depot but I doubt it, something like XXX Heating and Gas...that type of store.

A check of the a/c drain hose showed everything ok. Rolled back the carpet/jute everything clean and dry. I did notice a light coating of surface rust on the metal parts near the steering column where it enters the firewall, but I think that's simply uncoated metal being in the vicinity of the dampness. Jeep's off to the shop Monday (no charge) to have the A pillars siliconed and the black plastic trim glued back down on top of the roof ditch pieces. I think that's the ticket. I'll keep you apprised.

Got my Jeep back. A-pillars siliconed per request and trim sealed per a copy of service bulletin 23-023-27. Finish work is top drawer. I may add he's an independent mechanic and not dealer employed and now has a continued maintenance customer. Time will tell if this was the leak area. So far so good.

Thanks for the picture!

Thanks for the picture! When I removed my hose, a river of water came out. So I'm confident this fixed my water in the driver & passenger side (from running the A/C).

A couple of weeks ago when it was hot both of my carpets were wet from running AC I took a air compressor and pumped air into the ac drain hose underneath the jeep, now it's winter time and I'm using HEAT and only the DRIVERS side mat is wet, you think that could be my problem too. Would the heat do that?

I have just found the same problem on my 2011 patriot. Yesterday I dried the floorboards, front and back on the passenger side and found my door seal on the rear door loose at both top curves. Shoved them up tight, shut the door and it rained hard all night. This morning my floor is practically dry. I am going to put some black sicklbead under the door seal to keep them in place.
