We'll got up early and got on the road with the lady and the little one and made the trip to the dealer 2 hours away. Waited about 45 minutes and shazam!!! I'm out of there. Seems to have a little more pep. I'll find out when we leave town this evening! I'll give an update later!

Ya, the update allows you to rev a bit more freely off the line...so you will notice a bit more spring and if you aren't careful the revs climb into the 3,500 range but settle as soon as you lift and begin to cruise.

I initially lost about 1 mpg but I'm thinking that may have been due to me stepping into it a bit, that soon settled out.

As soon as you are back to normal driving for you, no long trips, no race days...pull the neg battery cable and allow the computer to re-set, then it will build a new fuel map and etc. based on the new tranny program and your normal driving habits.

The 2012s already have it. I need to get my 2011 done.
I bought mine July 4th.
After finding black widows and their eggs in the wheel assemblies, cob webs in the door channels, and the wiper blades dry rotted from sun light, I seriously question how long this one was sitting on the lot.
With that being said at what point in 2012 did they incorporate the newest flash? For any model in 2012 or just half year etc....

I question the CVT in mine but my wife's seems more smooth.
Then again hers over 1000 on it.
Mine only 600+
Thoughts?

the update came out in october-november of last year.

I don't think there is a set amount of time, people have just reported it resets after hooking it back up 30 minutes later. Could be 30 minutes, could be 3. I've done it for an hour and have seen results

How do you know that it reset? What do you mean by results?

In one case, my throttle response change completely. In another case, my EVIC unjammed and I was able to use it again. The only results were noticed by achieving the desired affect

Curious as to whether you were charged for this and how much?

Seems our old '07 only gets about 20 mpg @ 75-78 mph with a headwind, so I'm wondering what you think the update would do for us?

Also, my mechanic says not to change the tranny oil if it is running OK......
ain't broke don't.....

20 mpg going almost 80 with a headwind wearing oversized tires... consider yourself lucky! Bone stock I would get 19-20 going 70-75 with no wind. Sure its FDII vs FWD, but still

@metaxa do you have fwd or awd?

FWD.

I've had 4 wheel drive and AWD units in the past and actually used them but except for deliberately going to the gravel pit to exercise my XL7 to keep everything lubricated and not seized up I can't remember the last time I felt a need for it.

So I saved the money...my work puts lots of hard miles on a vehicle so you either have to find that one special buyer or simply give it away when you are done...so cheapest was probably my main focus at purchase.

For the money, tho, you sure do get a lot of capability and "stuff", eh?
Every now and again I wish I'd gone for FDI but not so often I'm kicking myself.

Both? Lol

Well thanks! As far as using it goes, I suppose its alright as long as its not your avatar on Patriot sites and you don't make money off of it! :)
