Hello,

So I was looking at the speaker install thread in the knowledge base...

Does anyone know if it matters if you have manual or power windows? I like the RF speakers, and Murman said that they fit his 2011 Patriot, but it does not say if he has manual or power windows.

I have power windows.

I would also like to know what speakers other people have put in without manual trimming...

Thanks guys!

Do you think that power windows make a difference?

Murman has power windows in his Latitude.

i have cdt 6x9's all around with power windows. i didnt have to trim anything and mine are pretty deep.

MRG455,

I'm not familar with CDT. I was basing my info off the threads and crutchfield. I looked at their website and they seem to be a smaller brand... what good things can you say about your speakers?

not positive, but i think theese are the ones i have (will try to find papers or boxes to be sure)

i like them, i started out switching to kickers which were pretty good, but i knew i wanted to amp them, the poor kickers never would have been able to handle it. there is definitly better sound through all ranges of volume. i'm inbetween having a sub in there right now, but the 6x9's put out a decent amount by themselves. this is the first set(s) of cdt's ive ever had, but would not hesitate to get them again. they quality seems to be good, they can handle some amperage without distortion. if you look around the internet you can find them cheaper, i just wanted to use their website for reference.

i couldnt find anything from when i ordered the cdt's. i will try to make a little time this weekend and pop one of them out to check the model. tyrone you might be right with the type. i think i paid just over $100 a pair about a year ago, but again ill look. rlo before buying any decide if you want to run an amp. if so choose a better set now instead of wasting money having to replace them when you add an amp. if no amp in the future almost anything you get will sound 100 times better then stock.

I probably won't run an amp. Just a new head unit. I think I'll either do the rf everyone here likes or the Sony XS-GT6937A since they are getting high reviews.

The head unit will be the Pioneer-AVH-P1400DVD or something in that line.

i got the 2400 too.

Sorry, I never got back to this thread. After a few weeks of having my headunit I'm in love. Just make sure you build a bypass!

i ended up getting the 2400BT for $324.99 on this install since the 1400 was not in stock... good news for me. they even threw in the microphone for free since i was upgrading (i never checked the crutchfield site) to the better head unit. i will have to say that using bluetooth to stream sounded pretty darn good, but not as good as having a direct connection. i did notice that you can't have your iphone plugged in and use the bluetooth calling without streaming audio. i wish you could have your phone plugged in and use the hands free calling feature.. only when im charging, otherwise i have an old ipod nano that i have plugged in.

the touch screen is fantastic and vivid. i think mine looks better and reacts faster than my friend's pioneer with the motorized flip screen.

pics soon, i promise!
