Oh well (I can say it like that since I have mine, but I do feel your pain). It will seem like an eternity those 2 days but it will be worth the wait.
When you pick it up just have a look at the overall condition of the car, make sure there is no black overspray along the door sills and on the underneath of the rear bumper. I had a look at a sport that was ready for pickup the day I placed mine on order and found a big dint in the bonnet that the detailer and the dealer missed. Let them know that I would be looking for that sort of stuff whan I picked mine up.

Cheers,

Tim.

1 more sleep!!

will go past the dealer on my way home tonight and see if I can get a sneak peek!!

1st road test report, hmmmm

gear box feels like it has sand in it. seems that a few others have reported this problem also.

other than this and a few sqeaks and groans all seems good.

I will be near Caloundra for a few weeks later this month / early dec. Where should I go for a few day trips (when I can drag family away). With a 2 day drive home I don't want to inflict damage - but I would like to have some fun.

Congratulations Mud. You will get used to the squeaks. Have a good listen to the sound system. I have had one speaker replaced and will be ringing up about another one. If this keeps going may have to replace them myself. Vibration gets so bad that I either turn it off or put all the sound to the back of vehicle (problem been with the front speakers so far). Over 5,000km on clock now and very happy. :smiley_thumbs_up:

yeah I'm not too worried about the sound system, I will soon pull it all out and put some good stuff in. But this gear box thing is pretty anoying.

Hi Guys

Ive had my patriot home for about a week now and hove only just realised that i could have gotten the MP3 adapter for the CD player. Does anyone else have it installed? My dealer reckoned it was only for the IPod...

Cheers
Dave

Dave,

The mopar adaptor is only for the ipod's. You essentially have what looks like an RJ45 female connector in the centre console near the 12 volt socket. It is a neat install. Charges the ipod at the same time. Uses FM modulation to connect to the stereo, and you do not have any ipod control through the factory system. Does it sound good? Yes, for what it is it works very well.
The only negative is that there is a flip out holder for a phone or an ipod in the centre armrest, but the cord will not reach the ipod if it is sitting in the armrest. Sort of makes the holder redundant, especially when the brochure shows an ipod in the centre console.

Thats interesting allpaw. Our dealer said that the connection is actually in the glovebox. I did find a schematic of the unit on one of these thread and the main lead actually terminated in a female RCA connection. From there it had two leads, one for the Ipod and the other was a standard 3.5mm stereo jack. If anyone has seen something similar please let me know i'm not going crazy.
