Any other Patriots in Australia - if so have you joined a jeep club ?

I seem to be only one in Melbourne... anyone else out there?

I've done 1000k's in my CRD silver limited and love it everytime I start the motor :)

Hi Tasar,

I live in Sydney & picked up my Patriot at the end of August. Have over 2000km on it now after a couple of road trips. Continue to be impressed every time I drive it. Have not seen another one on the roads here yet, Think I remember seeing another Patiot owner from Melbourne in this forum.

Thought about a Jeep club but have not searched for one yet. Would be interting to see how the clubs here react to the Patriot. Have you spoken to anyone from a local club ? Brad.

yes Brad that other Patriot was I

get onto www.ausjeepoffroad.com and lookup the sydney jeep club and contact them about coming along to a meeting

I'm already in Melbourne Jeep owners club and one of members sells jeeps had a patriot up at the training ground and did the obstacle course no problems , just didn't tackle the logs.

no reason why the patriot couldn't do easy 4wding and touring with a club
let me know how you go

justa quik question , in regards to RDS functionality, do you other guys get anything on the rds in other states, i dont even get station names just frequency, i would be keen to get this info so i can experiment with my stations transmision of rds, to try and get what seems a common issue with all the jeep radios in australia.

#6 ·
RDS works fine in Brisbane on my new Passat, (even Rive949 :) )
still waiting to pick up my Pat though.

You might have to turn it on in a menu?

ive spoken to someone with a cherokee and he said it started working after the first service...hmmm possibly may ned to be enabled by the service center i will investigate.

every event we use them on people grab the sales brochures, the jeep dealer has had a few enquiries because of them, took a run today in mine, got it very dirty on 80ks of corrugated roads and i must say in the past ive had other cars get a bit crossed up onem buit the pat was rock solid and cattle grids went by almost un noticed. MMM i am aware has rds, if the radio is working then it should atleast shoow the station name on the radio instead of its frequency, i will talk with jeep australia about it tommorw and hope fully if is a simple prcedure then i will suggest it be part of pre delivery in australia.

Did anyone experience a long wait for theire Pat here in aus?

I am being told there are NO Sport 2.4L Manuals with sound group plus in Australia, and I'll have to wait till March 08.

That is tooooo long for me, I will have to look at another vehicle if true.

#13 ·
Yes had too wait for 4 months and had to compromise on not getting the extra sound system would of had to wait over 6 months for a CRD limited luxurypack with sound blaster

See what other cars in OZ and may have to compromise on features , well worth getting the patriot - try a crd you won't regret try it ;)

yeah that sux the big one.

Does anyone know if you can buy the articulated tailgate speaker thingy on its own as a spare part?

#15 ·
Mud, my wait was only 3 weeks. Guess I was lucky as placed order the week after they were released here and Jeep had what I wanted already in the country - Limited, Steel Blue, sunroof etc.

The wait until Mar 08 is a real pain, hope Jeep can find something that meets your needs that is already here. For what it is worth, the wait would be worth it.

Spotted a Steel Blue Pat with signwriting on it, on Kingsford Smith Drive Brisbane (outbound) this morning, was that you zbee?
couldnt tell if it was a river 949 car or not, just seemed to haved Chrysler-Jeep-Dodge painted on it.

with regards to your post in the other thread (above)

Yeah I spoke to Gerry, but have been dealing with someone else since, and he hasn't given me a price below rrp yet.

What was the deal he did for you what was your model/options drive away price?

My wait for my CRD LTD was also only about 3 weeks. As discussed on the other forum I am also in melbourne (cranbourne). Of interest there is a discrepency between the service book and owners manual regarding the time between services. The dealership rang jeep and confirmed that it is 15,000KM for the diesel - this seems a long time between oil changes for a diesel?

Only issue we have had is a broken windscreen 3 days after getting it.. that was a big disappointment.

damn if you were up here i could make you one, mine took cuppla hours to fabricate and total cost was $50 all up....towball, tongue and plugs and wire from supercheap...if mud gets one ill be happy to build one for him, diffrence with mine is the toungue bolts on from underneath which means no cutting of the body work as thats what is done with the factory version;)...next project is designing and making a roo bar for it....im thinking something that is removable for city driving...when i do my country runs its needed more as most involve back roads etc...the rear deflector i think is neccasy as the beast does get akot of dust at the back, anyone got a price on one btw?

#26 ·
hmmm, i dunno blondes are hard to make...;), that little number is not easy, the basic bar is straight forward. Trip went well, may have anutha in the next cuppla weeks.

heya Keith,

Just got off the phone with A1Carbroker, I just placed my order for -

4x4 Sport 2.4L Manual in Jeep Green with tinted windows, Mats (and tow bar if they can put one on without cutting the bumber)

Subject to delivery within 14 days.
fingers crossed!

#29 ·
hopefully in a few weeks im goin to look at designing a roo bar and also see what i can do for some tow points etc....if succesfull i may post the designs or maybe se if i can get a small batch done for us aussie members.... a roo bar maybe a challenge so as not to detract from the nice front of the beast....im thinking along the lines of a simple pipe type design black of course for mine

#31 ·
hey VK, is that your's?

is that the actual factory jeep aus spec tow bar?
is the bumber cut?
do you have a better pic?
is it like this?

I've seen this as the "jeep" item from over seas, I don't like the bumber cut thing?

which one is yours like?

cheers

Yes it's mine. I will get you a better photo tonight, but it is what was installed when I ordered tow pack pre-delivery from jeep dealer. Reason I put the picture up is I an 99% sure that the bumper isn't cut, but the vehicle is at home and I am at work so I will make sure tonight. I think it is as per the picture you sent!
