Finally got around to testing out a set of 25mm spacers for the 'Riot. My setup is 225/75R16 Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac's on 2007 Ford Fusion rims (16"x6.5", +40mm offset) with RRO lift. (http://www.jeeppatriot.com/forum/showthread.php?t=63945) Was getting rubbing on the inside rear at the frame at 1-1/4 turns of the wheel. Pleased to announce that the 25mm spacers seem to have cured the rub! I've also gained back way more than the 1/2" of track width I lost with the lift, not to mention it looks awesome! :)

Spacers are hubcentric 25mm spacers, and I was quite pleased with the price and service from Precision European:

I was just reading about spacers on another forum and read a horror story about a wheel coming off. Although most everyone that responded to the thread said this shouldn't or has not happened to them.

Did you install these yourself? Tell us more!

I am having a really hard time finding a set of wheels that will fit and are pleasing to my eye. All the wheels I like turn out to have an offset/BS that will not fit.

I am reluctant to use spacers, but as desperation sets in and spring gets closer I am more willing to look at other options.

I was reluctant to use them as well, but I wasn't happy with the rub I had either. Once I got them in my hand and saw how substantial they are I was reassured though.

I haven't installed them for good yet as I want the time over christmas break to be able to pull the wheels off and check the lugs a few times. I did find that the wheel was quite snug on the spacer and it would have been possible to tighten the lugs with the wheel rotated slightly... once driving this could have caused the wheel to shift and the lug nuts to loosen, but I'm confident that if the lugs nuts are properly secured that they will be safe.

What was the cause of the failure you read about?
