I noticed someone on here was looking for parts for their patriot. I was thinking, would it be cheaper to buy parts and build yourself one like that or buy a used one or new one?

On a side note, the patriots are in high demand now. The jeep dealership we bought ours from wants to buy ours back. I wonder if 2012 is the last prod. year for patriot or maybe they know something we dont.

New car places send out letters all the time saying they are "low in used car inventory" and hope that "if you sell them your used car, you would buy new" from them

I cannot find a Black 2.0L 5 speed with the power package anywhere - so I would say build.

Build it yourself? You didn't just ask that.

i was just curious to see what people thought. i bet you it would be very cheap to build one yourself.

Power package? Is that power windows/locks?
Yes - along with a few other things. All manuals that I have ever found are bare bone base model.

If you try to find the parts at boneyards, some will be tough, as that will be the reason someone junked it in the first place. With unibody and no real frame, there isn;t much you can do to bring those back to life. In the old days, you could find one with a good frame and destroyed body, and maybe a couple with damage you could piece one together from, but I sort of doubt it with these vehicles.

When I was in high school a friend of mine had 3 uncles that were all in the junk business. We put vehicles together at the boneyard back in those days and drove them for a while. Probably less than $50 in each one in total cost.
