I have been considering getting some in channel vent visors but don't know how they would look on my Pat. Anyone that has them, please post pics and let us know if they are in channel or the outside ones.

THANKS

I'll be the other guy...lol. I prefer the cleaner look of the in-channel style. Mine are the light smoke colored ones from weathertech.com and worth every penny!

Todd, have you had any issues with them in the winter? I went through 2 sets on my 94 Jimmy in one winter, which is why I switched to the stick on. I had issues with the clearance when scraping ice off of the windows on a regular basis. Although, you need to be a special kind of stupid to enjoy the winters in Erie:D

I hate to hijack this thread, but I absolutly that green color! as far as the ventvisor I have the stick on ones. they were a few dollars cheaper then the in channel, plus i have never used them before. I have used the stick ons for years without problems.

lol, sorry, i got so excited when i saw it i was speechless :), but yes, absolutly love it!

Nope, no problems with them, though I never had to scrape ice out from under them. Even if there was ice there, it's well above my eye sight so I don't think I'd bother to be honest. The ones on my wifes 2004 Sonoma were originally bought for a 1999 S-10. Same weathertech.com ones and they are now 12 years old and still look new. I've seen too many stick-on ones fall off or break, then you have to remove all that 3M foam tape to put new ones on. I will say the weathertech ones are a bit thicker then the other in-channels I've seen.

Not a fan of either one as modern HVAC systems usually do a pretty good job. They can help a lot on older cars with only kick panel vents or they're great if you're a smoker. Gets smoke out before it can permeate the interior or bother the passengers too much. If I was still doing a lot of cigars, I'd probably go with the in channel ones. $.02

Thanks everyone for the pics and comments. I would definitely get the in channel ones, if anything. The ones Todd has look like a lower profile design (don't stick out as much) compared to thejeepnow's.

thejeepnow, Are those the AVS brand in-channels?

joesjeeps, I do think cars look better without them but I wanted to buy them so I could leave my windows cracked at work when it is hot and there is a chance of rain.

Got the light smoke in-channel vent visors from weathertech for my '09 Patriot. Have had them through 2 winters in Central NY State and have had no problems. In fact, I've had this type of vent visor on 2 other vehicles that I owned and have been happy with them. See pics 4, 5, and 6 in my album.

They work fantastic in the summer. Crack all four windows, rain or shine, and the interior stays as cool as the outside air (almost any way).

Well I ordered the weathertech ones through carid.com (same price as directly from weathertech.com) for $115... a bit pricey but I think they will be worth it. They should be here in about a week.

Weather Tech

I am new to all of this and I wanted to pass this on (I know I owe a intro too). I guess the Weather Tech Air Deflectors for the windows are on MAJOR back order. I cancelled one order as I was informed I wouldnt get them until September and I was supposed to get them this week... Called a local company and they called Weather Tech and were also told the same thing..

:wow:

I don't care for the in channel ones. Have seen it lead to door rusting issue( on trucks anyway due to the gap it causes at the bottom by the outside rearview mirror that lets water inside the door - on the Patriot? ). I use the exterior mount ones and am very happy with them. Running the AVS exterior mounts on my 2011. $59 for the set. You guys are vastly overpaying with this $80-$115+ pricing. :wow:

I love VV's. It let's you crack your windows rain, snow, or shine. Even modern HVAC systems can have trouble defrosting windows when it is really cold or hot and hummid out. Also, if it is snowing out and you get wet then get in the vehicle it causes major window fogging. Even a defroster that works great on full bore can't always deal with it. However, if you have VV's and crack all 4 windows it clears it right up. Great invention!

No closeup pictures of the Patriot with them. You can see them here though FWIW...
