Took her in with less than 500 miles for an alignment. Most cars I've bought need one from the factory so no biggie, right?

Apparently there is a bad front axle from the factory. I had noticed a popping sound on slowing and accelerating. Mentioned it and they called and said the factory axle was not greased properly and a new one is on the way.

Will talk to the tech tomorrow, but dang. She's a week old.

My engine is also insanely noisy at takeoff and the brakes are really loud as well. My loaner is a 2010 Patriot and it is nowhere near as lound either in the driveline or brakes.

I will keep you guys posted. I am bummed. I love my Riot. :puke:

**Got her back today, great turnaround by my dealership. New front left axle. Rides great, the brakes are quieter, and the car does not pull. Whew!**

Here are some pics after a bath:

I never had to align a factory-new vehicle. Don't think I've had to do an alignment on any FWDs I've owned: Plymouth Tourismo, Olds Cutlass, Buick Century, Buick Grand Sport, Pontiac Grand Prix. All got to 100,000, most 150,000, the Pontiac 250,000. If they're changing out the axle, they'll certainly need to re-align it.

Oh, come to think of it I had an 84 Celebrity (company car) that chewed up tires. They blamed the alignment. Only took that car to 60,000 before I left the company.

Maybe it' just me, but the steering wheels are never centered and all my cars have pulled one way from the factory. It was off, according to the service dept, and the tech couldn't get it to stop pulling to th left. That's when he discovered the axle problem apparently. Some people are lucky with cars, some are not.

Not ready to give up on the Pat by any means. It's what I wanted or I wouldn't have bought it. Just bummed by my luck I guess.

Will know more tomorrow of course.

I've noticed mine pulls slightly left. It has done it since new, but it was so slight I didn't think much of it. My arm actually gets tired driving long distances because I'm constantly holding it slightly right. I meant to take it in today but ran out of time
