Hi all,
Its gone midnight - just finished fitting the pushbar I made and thought I would take the chance to show some pics of my tow hooks and how it is all fitted - please remember this is a Euro Spec Patriot and the front crossmember is a different height to the proper ones you guys get.
With the push bar added and everything bolted together its pretty solid.
Next step is to add some tubing from under the pushbar down below the motor onto the frame below and to incorperate a decent skid plate.
Powder Coat to come.
Dom

Wow! Nice job. That looks very effective and thought out. :notworthy:

Hmm, I thought I already commented here??? Oh well, here goes again.

Very nice work! I think I would use bed liner on it, rather than paint, just for durability.

Amazon sells a gallon kit with brushes, etc, the kind with Kevlar in it, for around $70 US I think.

That wouldnt pass vehicle user Regs. in UK !!Dont let the local Police see it!! Even if you hit a pedestrian at low speed , you would cut their bloody legs off!!

You have done a great engineering job ...but !! I question its legality!!

Its a crazy old world aint it?
If you hit them with enough speed to cut there legs off they are going to be flattened anyway!
interestingly the police use similar bars over here on their own motorway patrol cars to push vehicles - go figure?

This is America, we do what we want. Send me one. :D

cool,but i agree with tip.
in europe you wouldn't drive to the corner of your street without being pulled over.
nice work though,congrats

To be honest if the lower part was made from round bar it wouldnt be an issue and you could also fabricate it as a winch bumper, no different to the ones fiitted to countless land rovers over here and they are all legal!

Yea!! Borderspeed , I just dont think that sharp square edge would pass an MOT in UK.Plus the fact you need to tell your insurance company you now run a " Modified Vehicle " . Apart from the fact that Bull Bars are illegal in most of European Union.Dont forget this will now affect the operation of your airbags & will almsost nullify your Insurance .

Can't see how it is any different to every other 4wd with bullbars. Airbags won't function any differently. Probably more common in Oz and NZ I suppose than Euro metro areas.
As for insurance its not modified - its a bolton extra like a roof basket or tow hitch.

Check out the sharp edges on this baby!
This one is SLIGHTLY modified:D
It could decapitate you at the ankles and then do a burnout on the remains:pepper:

Guess what guys... Fully street legal and insured - NZ the land of the Free!

Hahahahaha - you guys crack me up!

I talked to my insurance company today (after what you Euro Guys said) and explained that I had fitted a bullbar, lifted springs etc - and they told me "no problem it won't affect the insurance in any way"
So its back to happily chopping peoples legs off - I guess I should'nt joke about it.
Thanks for the input guys.
