t-Hill....... Turbos just spool up ur exhast valves so the air out you motor is more smooth like the cyclone effect, which smoother means way more HP, but as for the wear on the motor no.... its a supercharger that kills the life a motor if the motor wasn't designed for one.... But also a turbo with a lot of boost could add a little wear and tear, but his 4-6 lbs boost wont hurt.
So yes if this project works I'm going to be very excited to maybe try a turbo on my JEEP
Uh... you're a bit misinformed.
A turbo does not "spool up" your "exhaust valves". It does not "smooth out" the air to give it a "cyclone effect" (Dysons do that). It DOES wear down the motor, if not properly built (and even IF properly built, most times). A supercharger does not necessarily wear an engine any more than a turbo, or even a naturaly aspirated lead foot for that matter. And 4-6lbs of boost could easliy blow his motor, if his tune runs lean or if he's moving massive CFMs at 4-6lbs.
Not trying to bust your balls, and I'm not calling you dumb or anything, but more or less everything you said was incorrect. If it were as simple as tacking on a turbo set to deliver 4-6lbs of boost, don't you think everyone would have done it by now?
Turbos are like women. They're a lot of fun to dream about, and guys brag about getting one and what they're gonna do with it; but when it comes down to it, they are expensive, require a lot of meticulous maintenance, and sometimes they blow up your junk. And whether you are willing to see it or not, you're basically getting married to it at some point.
But turbos won't bang your best friend after 7 shots at a party. +1 for turbos!
