I have a 2007 Patriot, and I always wondered if anyone else thought that there needs to be a dome light over the back seat? The front dome lights don't do squat when your kid in the back seat drops a crayon.... I feel like there is too much of a gap between the front dome and the rear dome in the back. Any mods or fixes available to put a middle one in?

I guess that's why you don't buy a first year model! I'd love to get a new one, but I'm a bit upside down right now. I'm gonna drive this thing til it's dead, or I am... I bet you LOVE the middle dome light!!

2008's and on have 3 sets of lights - front maps, back seat single, rear cargo light

There have been several that have added it to their '07. It should not bee too difficult.

Do you know where or how to add one? I've tried every search possibility on this forum....

Here is some info:

Not sure which of the numbers you will need. I suggest you print these out and go to a dealership with them.

I would have preferred that the middle dome had reading lamps like the front.
If I were to buy one to install that is what I would pick.

Here is the wiring diagram for the 3 lights setup.
You should be able to splice into the wires of the driver light.

YL/WT (Yellow with White Stripe) for power
BK/LB (Black with Light Blue Stripe) for ground
YL/LB (Yellow with Light Blue Stripe) is the "override" to turn maps on when courtesy lights are off

If you buy a "map light" style instead of a generic dome just follow the wiring of the front.
