Has anyone tried to download the free service manuals offered at sites such as Heroturko.org, Freshwap.net, or Limetorrents.com? What's the catch? Sure, I'd like to have the complete 2010 Patriot Service Manual set on my computer and not have to buy the paper copy for a couple hundred dollars! I just don't want to be sucked in to a come-on.... Anybody try it?

2010 should be mechanically the same, some of the wiring may have changed though.

The lovefest site is my own personal mirror of the 08 manuals for this community. Go download them and enjoy, no catch, no virus's or malware. It's a zipped up .iso file format so you can either burn it to a CD using any normal CD burning software (almost all of them recognize .iso as an image file), or use a virtual cd-rom software to mount the image and use it that way (I use Elby's Clone Drive, which is free).

Todde, what do you mean. I need a bit of help here. I've downloaded the file which says it is an "ISO" type file, whatever that means, and I can't open it. I've used a Winzip programme to put it in My Documents but a message keeps coming up telling me that Windows cannot open it because it doesn't know what programme created it. What's my best way forward?

go to
http://www.elby.ch/fun/software/

download, install, allow it to 'mount' 1 drive and point the software to the ISO file

have a go and see what happens - you won't break anything

put simply, this software allows your computer to read an ISO file

i don't understand all the magic of computers, but an ISO file is the building block of a cd

the other option is to burn the ISO to a cd (and make an actual cd, rather than just copying the ISO file to a cd)

What Harold said. The clone drive software works really well. Once you have it installed, it should associate .iso files to the virtual drive so you can just double click it to have it mount. If it doesn't autorun, simply double click "my computer" and you should now see a new HD DVD drive (or something like that). Double click the drive, then open/double click the file called default.htm. The CD has to use Internet Explorer to work properly, so if you have Firefox or Chrome as your default, then you'll need to right-click on the default.htm file and choose "Open With" from the menu, then pick Internet Explorer.

Or you can burn the .iso file to a physical CD itself. Check this website for some good how-to's: http://www.petri.co.il/how_to_write_iso_files_to_cd.htm

thanks, Guys. It's complicated, isn't it? But I've got it to run now. I must admit, I'm happier with stuff that has brakes, injectors and water-pumps rather than modems, "drives" and "partitions"...

Hi Everyone,
I've managed to download everything and open the file but it seems all over the place, is it a case of trial and error to open pictures and diagrams or is there a way of reading this like a book?
Any help appreciated.
By the way I'm using windows vista.
