I know the ESP Full off subject has been discussed in length before. I understand the difference between full and partial off, and how (in theory) you should be able to switch between partial ESP and full ESP off. I've tried holding the ESP button for 5, 10, 20 seconds, and still do not see the message or hear the chime. Also tried shifting from park to drive, and vise-versa as the manual suggest. With all of this in mind, i've come to the conclusion that my Patriot was one of the ones included in the TSB.
A little background on my car.... i just bought a used 2008 patriot sport FD1. It's in great condition, and i think (hope) this is the only issue it may have. Since i bought it used, and not from a jeep dealership, i'm pretty sure it won't be covered under warranty. I want to go to a Jeep Dealer, and have them "flash" it to fix the ESP OFF indicator. I'm just wondering what other people have paid for this. I know a lot of folks got this done under warranty, so no money was involved. But my Patriot was used, and i'll have to pay out-of-pocket. Just curious as to the average price, so i don't get screwed here.
