I am looking at the 4x2 Sport model and the only thing I would like on the car that is included on the Latitude models is power windows. Can power windows be upgraded as an option from the dealer/factory while staying at the Sport model? If not how hard/expensive is it to convert even at minimum the front two windows to power over manual?

Thanks :)

Yes, there is a power and convenience group that can be added when ordering, and most Jeeps on the dealer lot will have power windows as they use the quick order codes to get the most common options. For example, my 2008 Sport has the 26E quick order package which gave power windows, mirrors, keyless entry, height adjustable drivers seat and a few other goodies.

Ouch - the power group is an extra $1,405.00. If I build it to the options I want its $18,645 after destination charge - I think I will need to build one from the factory as I want custom options and a 5 speed - something which is rare at local dealers (manual trans that is).

Could I just order the power windows or do I have to get the entire power group package?

Haa .... well how much for a convert for just the front two windows? My cousin years ago converted his manual Neon to power windows and it was not that expensive as he used junkyard parts. I can get keyless remote start for $200 installed and if I can spend $100 per window for the front two it would be a grand saved (if I can do it that cheap).

hehe.. In 2008 I took the trouble of doing a factory order to buy a basic basic 'Sport' trim so as to avoid the cost & future repairs of the costlier 'North' trim; that includes a pkg of stuffs I didn't need. I don't miss the AC, power locks, power windows. But I would've wanted the handy fold-down front passenger seat.

All mfrs like to sell things in packages to boost profit margins. It's a matter of personal choice to settle for what one needs vs wants. I put the money into practical stuffs like extra side airbags, oil cooler, undercoating, and mud-flaps.

Anyway, I figured a way around the lack of front folding seat for hauling lumber. Voila, Just remove the headrest, slide seat forward, and fold the seat back. Not elegant, but works. I have no service issues on power locks, windows, nor AC. LOL
