The most complained about modern car since the internet age

A 2002 Ford Explorer XLT

It's my wife's car so I'll answer for her ...

Just sold 2005 Nissan Murano with 210,000 miles
1997 Dodge Ram 1500 sold with 214,000 miles before that
1995 Saturn prior to that

Since there are so many VWs on here. I just sold a VW Jetta TDi with 200,000 miles

This is what I drove before the Pat....turned it in before lease expired, much to my dismay. It's an 07 Chrysler 300 'C'.

A 1999 Ford Escort. Don't Laugh! I still have it for run around car, very few problems with it and it still runs great. also had access to my husbands 1993 Wrangler in the winter. Even though I spun it around on ice patch this year. But that can happen in anything on ice.

I had a 2000 Chevy Malibu LS which had 117,000 miles on it when I traded it in for the Pat. (Traded it in without the wheels).

I have had two 1993 Ford Aerostar’s and then a 2002 Chevy Astro before my Jeep Patriot. Pretty much drove all vehicles till they dropped dead. All my vehicles I have had, had four wheel drive on them. Living up north and having to drive in snow it was to me a pre-requisite, plus they had what I considered good enough ground clearance. Everything ended up with over 200,000 miles and engine problems with many other problems as well. To many problems to fix needing to much money that it just wasn’t worth it, get another used vehicle and drive it to it goes.

I drove a 2007 Saturn ION until that fateful day about a month ago when I decided I wanted a vehicle that couldn't fit underneath a RAV4.

Ouch....

I miss my Malibu sometimes but it was time to let her go...

The Patriot really did not replace anything for a while. I was driving the '95 XJ which was really what my wife had bought to drive many years ago. She was driving the '98 Durango. Well we bought the Patriot which I started used as my daily driver because of I drive a lot. She got the XJ back and our daughter borrowed the Durango to use as her daily driver.

But in reality the Patriot is temporarily replacing my '82 AMC Eagle SX/4 as a daily driver as its the Eagles turn for some much needed TLC so I can use it again when the roads are not seasoned with brine. The Eagle, believe it or not, gets right at 30 mpg.

Eventually we gave the Durango to the our daughter which she promptly traded in for a used Ford Focus.

So I guess the Patriot replaced the Durango.

2005 BMW X5 4.81i (Beast) (dad's car)
2008 Merc C 220 (Parents car)

2009 Pontiac Vibe, on a lease. Didn't mind the Vibe. Decent car, but I got tired of leasing and wanted a vehicle that would have some residual value that *I* would own.

I have to say, I'm not unhappy with the decision. Love my Patriot, nice step up from the Vibe, even given the similar price point.
