Hi yall, I have a 2014 jeep patriot, it is a FWD 4 cylinder latitude. I have had this problem for a while, and I've reached my breaking point with local repairmen. For the first 5 or 6 months, my thermostat never broke the halfway mark, no matter how fast or long I drove, and then it started overheating, and hasnt really stopped for more than like a week at a time. We have fixed lagging brakes, radiators, Batteries, pumps, flushed coolant, etc. I just want to know if anyone else has had this problem and if they found a fix.

We have had a couple folks with highway overheat issues and I recall most were resolved with replacing the thermostats. Our engines have two of them. A 172F primary stat and a 203F secondary. If the secondary sticks closed you lose the extra cooling path out of the cylinder head.
