Took my 2011 patriot latitude in for an alignment bc the rear end was like on ice. That's when I discovered the subframe rusted thru and cracked. Spent the last 2wks replacing it. Almost every bolt was rusted/seized and broke off. So of course I had to order all new bolts, including the camber bolt & nut. Got it all back together and went to get an alignment since I replaced the camber stuff and I could only do top speed of 20-25mph. The rear end felt like it was all over the place. I turned around and came home because I don't know if I did something wrong or if I just need to deal with it long enough to get to the shop to get alignment. Any thoughts or ideas or opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Double check to make sure that all of the nuts and bolts are tightened to spec. When you connected the control arms, did you load the suspension before you tightened up the bolts? If not, you could have destroyed the control arm bushings.

The rear cradle can be shifted to adjust camber and the rear toe can be adjusted via the toe links and that's about it for factory alignment changes. It could be the cradle is angled creating a dog tracking effect, basically the rear wheels pointing left or right from the centerline. This will pull the backend one way or the other and feel really unsafe. Get it to a good alignment shop that understands they may need to loosen the cradle and adjust it. Any good 4x4 shop should be able to do this. But don't expect corporate places like Walmart or pep boys to even have a clue.
