I am resolving a weatherstrip issue once my 2008 Mercury Mariner. It made me notice the door weatherstrip on my 2014 Patriot. Is this normal?
There's no adhesive. Shouldn't there be some?
There's no leaks yet.

Not normal. The weatherstripping is losing it's gripping power and is sagging off the metal bead. Push it back into place, if it sags again you can apply glue or replace it with a new one. Are you still under comprehensive warranty? If so have the dealer replace it.

I don't have that problem but my Dad's old Dodge had that problem around the rear doors from day one. In that case I think the gasket was too stiff to make the tight turn. We ignored it and it never got any worse. It does look a little unsightly, though.
