I have both but I experience crazy amounts of wind noise.

I have Thule square cross rails and in-channel window vents.
It was night and day difference when I installed the window vents. I do a lot of highway driving and the wind noise is so loud now!

Is there a need for these wind deflectors anymore? I had a stainless set on my old Blazer so I could crack the window on a rainy day and stay dry. With the improvements in HVAC systems in cars, this once popular accessory seemed to disappear for a couple decades. I haven't owned anything since the 80's that I felt a need to put these on. Lately they seem to have gotten very popular. Perhaps I'm missing something.

I have the weathertech side air deflectors and haven't noticed any additional noise. They do work fantastic for speeding up defogging, allowing some fresh air during a rain storm and also venting the hot air out of the jeep when it's sitting out in the sun (I no longer climb into an oven). And should a sudden rain pop up, you can have all four windows cracked and not get a drop of rain inside.

That's the way I used them on my truck primarily to block out AM & PM sun while driving, they give you an additional couple of inches to block bright light. Also to vent the inside, especially during the summer. It gets as hot as 3 h$%&'s in the south. 101 degrees one minute & a monsoon the next, all the while keeping the insde dry. Quite honestly I rarely ride with the windows down.

+1!!

I had them on my last car (neon) and liked being able to use the deflectors as todde702 mentioned. I am planning on getting the same units that he has for my Riot :pepper:

Best investment to keep from baking in the RIOT is the remote starter. AWESOME plus you wont freeze your @$$ off in the winter, of course heated seats alos help :smiley_thumbs_up:

I had an after market remote starter on a 1993 Pontiac Grand Prix and it was awesome...until it broke...repeatedly. Kept burning up relays for some reason. I had to keep a spare in the glove box because you never knew when you were going to be stranded. Looking back, I think the starter was probably getting ready to go and drawing to much power or something.

Had mine put on when I bought the Riot before taking delivery so don't know if it's any additional noise but glad I got them. I like being able to keep the window cracked open and not worrying about rain coming in or water dripping in after a rain. If I had to do it again, definatley yes.

Mopar deflectors - additional noise if any out weighed by having the windows open a bit during the rain.
Plus if you want noise just open your rear windows for the "helicopter" effect which although common I notice it much more in the Pat then in any of my previous vehicles.

I've had my Patriot for 8 months and just installed the Weathertech deflectors (in-channel) and I'm very pleased. I'm not a big fan of AC and like to drive with the roof and all the windows open. Normally, at highway speeds, that was a very windy and noisy experience. With the deflectors, it's much quieter and way less windy inside - more like a breeze than a gale. The deflectors were simplicity itself to install.
