We've gotten anywhere from a low of 18 (uphill, against the wind at 75-80 mph) to 24.3 on our 09 Limited with the FDII,switched to synth oil at 1st change (3K miles),got 4500 on it now.
Didn't know about 10k bein' the break-in point,I'll keep an eye on it.

Like spoilers, eh

. ... Just like those cars with the add-on "whale's tail" spoilers--they really aren't effective until way over 120mph, so are just for show!
Thanks for the reply, Jack. I don't want any extra bling on my Jeep--Just like Walt Kowalski didn't want a spoiler on his Gran Torino after he willed it to his Hmong neighbor in Gran Torino.
.
I took the crossbars off--drag or not--and am storing them in the garage until I need them for cargo.

Been driving mine about a week it's an '09 & getting unreal gas mileage, just wondering what everyone else is getting.
Funny you should say that. My window sticker read:

EPA Estimated Fuel Economy
City: Unreal  / Highway: Unbelievable! :pepper:
:p

To keep the comparisons within reason, make sure you are considering location and weather. It seems our Pats are very sensitive to cold and humidity, and like most vehicles, sensitive to altitude.

Patriot Sport 4x4 with CVT. I am getting 23MPG on country roads with lots of hills. Highway gets up to about 24 but where I live no road is flat for more than half a second.

By the way, what is the best tire pressure? My tires are at 35psi.

Getting a little over 27 mpg's with mainly city driving.

4X2 5 speed - 4K miles - roof X bars on - tires at 36 psi - 5W-30 synthetic engine oil and Redline C+ synthetic tranny oil.

Has been a cool summer so far in Mich, so AC has only been on once or twice.

Took my first mostly highway trip this weekend. From and to was 31.2 with the air on. Trip back was air off with 33.4. Love the 5 speed, pretty smooth shifts for a non-import ;-). Fun factor is still off the chart and the ride is quite a surprise. Ric

So far: 1st Tank = 24.0 mpg, 2nd =25.3 mpg, 3rd 25.4 mpg, and 4th tank 22.3 mpg... My daily commute is a mix of stop and go NJ highway along with some decent hills. (patriot sport 4x4)

I am pretty sure gas station brands can be a big factor. At lease that was the case with my previous vehicle where i got much better milage using the quick check gas (not sure who thier supplier was) compared to most of the other stations like Luk Oil and Shell. I am not sure how much octane is a factor. Used 87 only so far. My last car actually got better mpg on 87 than with higher octane, whereas my car before that got much worse mpg with 87, so much so that putting 92 octane improved the milage so much that it made up for it in cost.

Bought my Patriot three weeks ago. Three fill-ups and 1673 miles when I filled this morning. According to Fuelly.com, my mileage was...

First fill up (dealers gas) 20.5 mpg and 248.1 miles
I think I was still learning about the CVT and I would imagine that the dealer probably didn't fill the tank as much as I do.

Second fill up...22.8 mpg and 285.4 miles
Hmmm, getting better!

Third fill up... 24.3 mpg and 287.4 miles
Best tank yet!

Most of my driving is a mixture of highway getting to work and then in town/stop & go, going to customers homes. I like that it's getting better. Hope I can get as much as some who have posted.

Check out Fuelly, I think it's a great website that I found mentioned here. Since I track my mileage for business, I think it's going to be a great help.

:)

I've had my '09 Patriot about 3 weeks now. Got about 22.5 MPG on my last tank of fuel - probably 60% city driving w/AC on. Look forward to seeing what kind of mileage I'll get on a trip, especially seeing some of the numbers posted here.

My 2009 with FDII, 4x4 off: first three tanks up to date (~1100 mi): 25.0 (dealer gas, HWY 40%), 25.1 (HWY40%), 25.3 (HWY 80%). I followed the break-in procedure in the manual. I'm happy with the figures. BTW, I live in Pittsburgh PA, driving up and down hills on HWY and city roads.

took a trip upstate ny, little bit of traffic, lots of hills, mostly all highway, 5 people in the car with the trunk loaded with luggage, got 27.64 mpg. usually avg. about 24 mpg mixed, i have about 8000 miles on it and its a 09 5 speed and i do have a cia which helps
