When I went to a car wash. I pulled up to this guy who asks you what kind of wash you'd like. Now, my Pat was VERY dirty/dusty as I'd taken it on a 20 mile trail the weekend before. His first words were, "Whoa! Dude...how long were you gonna let this go?" I responded with, "Well, it's only a week old, took it on a trail." Then the guy looks it over and says, "This Jeep shouldn't go off road man, this is a 'low rider' Jeep! You need to have TV's and stuff in there!" I was offended! TV's? I laugh at that crap! I just responded with "Well I bet my Jeep has been on more trails than many of the Jeeps that you've seen come through here." He then responds, "Man, I know Jeeps, I'm from Maui, we lift them up and climb volcanic rocks and stuff." Although he is correct, when I was in Maui, I did see a lot of lifted Wranglers and Toyotas, but I could see where this was going. This guy was ignorant. I wanted to tell him just how I felt about him and his opinion, but a friend of mine told me that "one shouldn't talk to stupid people, because it just prolongs the conversation". As I entered the car wash, I realized that I'm letting some guy that works at a Car Wash... offend me...

But had I gone on, I'd ask him what other 4x4 would allow me to lug all my crap around the country and get me 29-32 mpg?

There's no sense in having a battle of wits with an unarmed person. ;)

you should have just said,

"well look how far you have come from Maui and lifting Jeeps...now you're washing MY JEEP. BIIIOOOOOTCH"

:smiley_thumbs_up:
HAHAHA!

Jim Mora: "Carwash! Carwash! Are you kidding me, Carwash?!"

What is that? My Patriot is still dirty from playing in March. It has had a few rinsings from mother nature but that only gets rid of the loose stuff. :)

Will, careful he may not be armed with wits but he does have a high pressure water "gun". He could ruin your radiator fins!

That is how I feel. I laugh to see squeaky clean Jeeps, but damn, I love my Jeep sparkling in the sun at times:)

I would not have been offended at all.

I can see what you are saying but I can see what Maui was saying too.

I may offend lots of people here but to me the Patriot is capable of pulling of both off road traditional Jeep duties and is also capable of putting on the bling and making an awesome street cruiser.

Honda has the Element in the standard form and an SC version which is just what Maui was talking about a street custom version of the Element. Why can't the Patriot do this as well?

I am just saying the Patriot looks good both ways and can perform off road too. Nothing wrong with a vehicle that can be a street cruiser or off road warrior and making it one way or the other. That's what customizing is all about to me.

Jeep has evolved with the Patriot. It's not just for off road anymore.

But Joe his high pressure water gun has an orange tip on it.:D

I should take a pic of our Jeeps engine bay. lol
From going through the puddles in my sig, still dirty as ****. Granted; we haven't actually WASHED the car yet. lol -- it's only been through the rain and sleet that it has been cleaned at all. (and the every-night sprinklers it gets; we park on the sand next to the driveway.. as we have 2 cars on the driveway.. stupid HOA's)

Dude... he works at a car wash... not your local Jeep dealer! You did good in carrying the satisfaction you had regarding your Jeep inside and not sharing it with him. Hell, if he couldn't see the results of a good outing (mud trophy) then what good would continuing a conversation with him have been? You washed the Jeep and now you are ready for your next mud bath!

Puh-leeze.

Jamie's sister and her family are die-hard Wranglers and they LOVE our Patriot; even want one for their own!

I can't stand a snob... including a Jeep snob. I bet if that schmuck got behind the wheel of a Pat, he'd be singin a different tune :p

I'm Gonna send Vinny & dur boyz round to that Wash!! No one insults a member of My Family !!!!

Comments...

Ignorance is bliss. Let them have it. :p

No matter what vehicle you choose to own, people will be making comments about it. Most you'll never hear. :notworthy:
