I was about to install my skid plates last weekend and my jack broke. It wouldn't crank high enough and it kept clicking. Then, when I tried to lower it, same thing, just clicking noises. So I had to use my trusty VW jack to lift the jeep higher to pull the jack out. Luckily, jeep covers the jack under warranty. What a SURPRISE!

And here's some suburban off-road photos as well.

Cheers!

Skid plates are going in next weekend, I'm so glad chrysler made it so much fun to find all those different bolts!

Man I love my new Forteras!

Great in action pictures! I really like the third picture!

Great Pics! nothing better than playing in the mud! The third pic would be a great avtar.

mav, why not get a two or three 2x12's say 8 foot in lenght and cut a 45 inch length and then one at say about 35in. and another about 25in. Make some ramps to drive up on. I stacked 2X12's four thick (screw it together with deck screws) and it worked great for installing my plates and tow hooks. Also alot safer than the factory jack.

You were using jack stands along with the jack I hope. Never go under a vehicle and work with just using the spare tire jack!

Fantastic photos!

Do you monitor your MPGs? I'd be interested to know how the skid plates affect them. I'm considering getting a set myself.

I had my Pat about a year and a half before I put skid plates on. I have had them on for about 3 months now and there was absolutely no change in MPG.

Thanks! That is good to know. :)

There's a few construction sites, clear and full of Mud and Sand that should be fun here in the east end of Ottawa.

I'll post pics if I go play around in them

Adobe car wash?

All that mud and your car still looks cleaner than mine!!!!!!

Skid plate is sitting in my garage, waiting for me to get off my lazy butt, find the thread with the bolt list, and install it. I don't go under my Patriot with anything less than jack-stands, and a hydraulic jack, or driving it up on a set of metal ramps. This stuff is usually pretty good priced at part stores. I picked up two jack stands, hydraulic jack, and two ramps for about $150.
