Hmm my 84' VW Rabbit's "Need New Engine" light must of malfunctioned along with many other things. Oh I was going to do the electrical tape over warning lights. I had on the same car as above "battery light" go on. Everytime that stupid light would show (or if my headlights would slowly start to dim) I knew the alternator was going down.

You'd think there would be one. Every car I've owned has had a light saying it was out. One car hmmm think it was the one I just sold had a light and wouldn't turn off until it got filled. I do use use a lot of washer fluid, especially behind log, dump, chip, etc trucks after it's rained and mud splashes on the windows.

There is one...according to the manual. This is the point of this thread.
The EVIC should display a low fluid level message, but no one here has seen or noticed it. I've run out and never noticed a warning...and I have the EVIC.

EVIC is the car information system integrated into the interment cluster that shows allot of info for the pat. It is availale with the driver convenience group on limiteds and the popular equipment group on sports.

SMJPG2007, If you ordered the driver convenience package or popular equipment group the EVIC or electronic vehicle information center. That was true for 2007 but I believe all or part of the EVIC system is standard in 2008. Certainly the tire pressure monitor is.

Actually all of the models have the tire pressure monitor. This is not the same as the EVIC's display. It's just a light that comes on if your tires fall below a certain pressure. It's in the manual.

Supplemental Restraint System--the airbag for the passenger seat can be turned off with that button, for lightweight or no passengers in front seat. This button is no longer available--has been replaced by a blank button. It is surprising that you have it!
