Saw today newspaper 2016 patriot 5000$ off

Yep still there for 2016

Its been like 2 years now there supose to be out,
How long will they keep doing this? Not complaining,,its all good...i still have my 2010 and almost look yhe same as a 2016,,,,so better for what they still worth,,i think....but i still look at the new renegade.
 
With the Canadian dollar being 0.75 of the American dollar, does that mean I could cross over into Ontario and buy a Patriot for the equivalent of $11k USD? :) Because on the Canadian Jeep site, the 2015's are $14.5k, and the 2016's are $15.5k.

Here, they are $13.5k for the Sport FWD model with 5 speed transmission.
 
In theory, many times though purchasing a new vehicle in a different country, can result in the manufacture not covering warranty on that vehicle. Importing a vehicle can also be a big pain in the butt as well.
 
You'd think there'd be no problems importing from Canada to the USA or vice versa, as the vehicles are exactly the same and have the same emissions and crash test results. But governments like to tax and charge duties and such so it would be a hassle.

Last time I was in Canada (for a month on business), the CAD and USD were almost exactly even. But gas was slightly more per liter than in the USA.
 
Does Canada have high inflation? They get paid more for equal work up there but taxes and services are off the chain.
I don't think they have high inflation when a new Patriot in Canada is $14.5k in Canadian dollars which is about $11.5k in US dollars. :)

Yeah taxes are higher up there, but the increased wages and not having to pay for medical insurance and co-pays and such probably make up for it.
 
Just got back from a Rhine river boat cruise, spent a couple of days in Amsterdam--and saw dozens of Jeep Renegades--my wife asked, "just what is that UGLY jeep??"
 
The other thing to consider is that you may have to get the speedometer replaced as the Canadian Patriot will be in KPH vs MPH. I know when I moved to the States for a bit I was going to bring my truck with me, and found out that it would cost me more than the truck was worth to make it legal in North Carolina!

Grand Cherokee's are about $14000 more than what they are in Canada. Our taxes are higher but we have health care that isn't like Obamacare,

wierd, my friend had an 86 cougar with a digital dash you could change it from us to metric with a button. funny thing is in US mode it would only register 85 but in km It would go atleast 160km which is 95mph I didnt try to go faster.

My mom had an '86 Cavalier Z-24 with digital dash, and it could also be switched from metric to MPH's.

I like digital dashes. I wish they had been more popular and stuck around. Apparently the auto makers did a lot of market research in the late 70's and potential buyers loved digital dashes.

However, they didn't sell well. People didn't want to pay any extra for digital dashes. I think it'd be cool to just slide a tablet computer over the gauges and plug it into a standardized plug (to get vehicle speed, fuel level, OBD) and then be able to set up your gauges anyway you want.

they do make them, I just can't think of the name. It's like a second display that just plugs into your obd II port. From what I remember though, they're quite pricey

But it'd still be cool to have a full digital in dash display. I had a '84 Mitsubishi Tredia in high school in 1990, and it had the electronics package -- really cool digital dash display. Basically the same tech that you could order with a '82 to '83 Dodge Challenger/Sapporo (Mitsubishi made) where it was called the Technica package. Then also in the Conquest/Starion.

My dad bought a '81 Chrysler Imperial Frank Sinatra Edition out of a wrecking yard for $500 in 1991. It had a full digital dash that worked perfectly. The engine just needed a carburettor on its 318 ci V8 to replace the buggy early fuel injection.

Chrysler products always led the way in car tech. Starting in 1982, most of the Chrysler lineup other than the 5th Avenue/Diplomat could be had with digital dash, a talking voice alert system/message center, and a trip computer. It had like 30 parameters that it'd monitor. If your oil pressure was low, besides the oil pressure guage on the dash, there'd also be a voice (female) that would verbally tell you. A friend of mine had an '84 Chrysler Laser XT Turbo that had the electronic package.

Stopped at my local Jeep dealer today and there were NO new Jeep Patriots on the lot. A ton of sport Renegades and Cherokees though.

Considering this dealer always had a bunch of Patriots before at any given time, I would say their days are definitely numbered.

Not saying the two will be maintenance free but media reports say they are. The reviewers make money reviewing new product and the Mks are old. Funny thing though the Outlander is on the old Mk frame and reviewers give it best buy accolades. I am happy with my purchases as well as others. No buyer remorse here.

It's that old pro-Japanese snobbery. The Outlander uses the same basic platform/chassis and even the same basic world engine (2.0/2.4), yet the weenies at the consumer mags will drool over a more pricey and less useful vehicle (Outlander). I like the Outlander, but I like the Patriot more.

And a lot of the Kias and Hyundais that everyone is going gaga over these days, a lot of those engines are also the same 2.4 that is found in the Chrysler and Mitsubishi vehicles.
