Hi everyone,

My names Will, 28 from Brisbane, Australia.

I'm the proud owner of a Dec 2010 Patriot Sport 4x4 in 'Brilliant Black' with just over 46,000km on the clock.

I've owned it for a few years now, picked it as an ex-demo in 2011 with 8,500km on it.

It's a great car to drive (it's my daily driver), awesome on fuel and I like that I have the option to take it on the beach and off the "beaten track" if I feel like it.

It's only been the last few months that the "modding" bug has bitten me.

I have been stalking the forum for a couple of months now and it's a wealth of knowledge. I only wish we here in Oz had the parts and variety available (at the right price) to us that you Americans do!

I've done a couple of small things to the car (I want it to look good and be functional):
- plasti-dipped the stock 17s Matt black;
-wrapped them in General Grabber A/T tyres (215/65/17);
- black "Jeep" valve caps (not really a mod);
- OEM roof racks off eBay with Yakima wraps for me and my Mrs SUP boards;
- blacked out the ridiculous muffler (may even remove it); and
- stubby antenna so I don't have to remove the stock antenna everytime we load the SUP boards on.

I managed to find a tow bar and wiring off a 2011 wreck that I will be putting on shortly. Quite frustrating that we don't get the option for tow hooks, so a tow bar it is. I've spoken to the Jeep Dealers here and they suggested it may have something to do Road Safety - things protruding from the bumpers of cars here.

Next Monday I am dropping the Jeep off to Murchisons (20 minute drive) to get their 2 inch lift installed. I will also be talking to Stu about a couple of other "goodies" to see if they can be created.

Thanks for having a read :) look forward to hopefully contributing positively to the forum.

Wait, did you say General Grabber A/T's in 215/65/17?
Sure did mate.

I noticed they also have the GG A/Ts in 215/70/17.

That's the tyres 215/65/70 with the plastidipped stock 17s. I find they're a good tyre, not too overly noisey. However seem to be bad with picking up stones and pebbles.

Welcome to the forums. You have a great looking Patriot. We cannot get General Tire Grabbers in 215/65/R17 here in the USA.

Thanks very much and thanks to everyone else for the welcome!

Finally the shoe is on the other foot. Haha. But I'd rather have your (easier to obtain/less expensive) options than one set of tyres that we can get that you guys cant. Haha
