if i were you, i would get it in the $18K range. you should be able to pull that...

That's a ballpark price... I paid $19,650 with tax, tags and a few odds and ends... (only got $500 for my trade...) But, I did get 0% financing for 48 Mos.

Another thing to consider... you can't get in another car today for any less that this, and that delivers these kinds of gas milage numbers... and is an SUV... (the next closest price car is the PT Cruiser and the next nearest MPG car is the Dodge Caliper)

$17,800 OUT THE DOOR! I literally JUST purchased the EXACT same vehicle set up (except for Exterior Color...I got Bright Silver). It was $16,700 base with 26E ($2175), Tire and Wheel ($590) CVTII ($1,100) and Destination Charge of $580 for a total sticker price of $21,235.

The ONLY difference is the dealership that I went to was on the last day of the month and was apparently only 2 short of their sales goals to get extra money back from the manufacturer (if that's true I don't really care, the first price they came at me with was about 18,900 and I started to walk out and the sales manager came over to "help" with the sale. They came back with 16,900 (after all of the incentives, EMPL. Price, Rebates, and their mysterious "bonus cash" that apparently came out of nowhere). With tax and tags it was $17,800 out the door.

NOTE: I also got free oil changes and state inspections for the life of the vehicle.

My dealership does it for all of their vehicles (Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep)...might just be something you'd want to throw at them. I went to a dealership in Springfield, VA (if you want to look up their site its online and I'm not sure if they have the free oil changes and inspections advertised but it might be something to print out and show your dealership to try to get them to do it for you too.

I was also quoted a price for a 4x4, same features as the 4x2

2009 Jeep Patriot Sport 4x4

Light Sandstone

MSRP: $23,020

Employee Price: $21,063.

this has the same 26E package and Tire group.

Think I could get a 4x4 around 19,000?

Be interesting to see if I can get at least 4 or 5K off MSRP.
Forget the MSRP! Find out what the Invoice Price is and work down from there. MSRP is the most meaningless crap you'll ever come across.

Looking at MSRP is like shopping at Macy's and thinking you got a great deal with 20% off their regular price. You still pay too much because their regular price is 150% of what the "invoice price" is.

Their "invoice price" includes proft. Don't pay more than invoice.

Well, I went for the fuel economy , would only need the 4x4 for snow since I don't do any off-roading. Very happy with the deal I got, 18k and with my trade-in on an 11 year old Explorer I was out the door for 17,500. Pretty happy to join the 'Riot crowd!

Looking to buy an 09 Riot

I was into my local dealer here in New Brunswick, Canada a few weeks back. The only models they have on the lot is the North Edition and the Limited. So I am unable to compare the comfort of the Sport edition interior.

I am asking the wise owners out there who have had the opportunity to try these other other models what the comfort is like?

Ballpark model I want will be trail rated as I may do some off roading power windows/locks and AC (cruise would be nice too but not neccessary). From what I understand some of these features are only available on the North edition and up?

From what I am seeking the rough price for a similar model is about 27k minus discounts and rebates?

Thanks a soon to be Riot owner!

I got my 4x4 for 18,600.
That means 19,600 out the door.

It has the 26E package and CVT II Tranny.

Plus oil changes for life. I have heard of better deals, but I am happy with mine.
You got about the same deal as me but I got the 4x2 and paid just a bit less. Got the oil changes for life (but mine also added lifetime state inspections). It feels good to know that in a few more weeks (i'm only at about 1700 miles) I can just call up the dealer and tell them to change my oil and I owe nothing.
