Just curious. My first Jeep was a 1949 Willys Overland that I bought in !962 for $50. Has anyone on this forum owned a Jeep before that? It didn't have a single option, not even a radio. I got a radio out of a bone yard and hung it under the dash. Thats when Jeeps were Jeeps. We've come along way since then!

I actually didn't even think about Jeeps till my friend got a CJ, after that I was hooked but it wasn't practical for me to have a vehicle that small with things I had to put in it so finally in '93 I got a Cherokee 4dr Sport and with the exception of 2006-2007 have had a Jeep ever since

This Patriot is the first Jeep I've owned after nine Land Rovers (I still own one of those). I bought this because there was pressure on me to buy a recognizable car. I just couldn't find it within myself to do that, so I went out and bought the Pat. Everybody's happy. My mother-in-law thinks we're cruisin' around at long last in a regular car, an' I'm happy bashing this thing around in the snow when there's no one in it bar me.

Drove a 79 CJ7 back in highschool. That thing had seen better days I'm sure. It lasted me a year before I killed it once and for all!
It was my first "project" car. Did the bodywork, sound, and cosmetics myself. Found good deals on paint and trans/engine work. I even built a hardtop hoist for it drove my girlfriend around with the top off. Had an ice-crusted snowstorm and used the CJ to pull a sled offroad! Once used it as a shuttle for a bonfire party. Got it stuck in the deep woods one time and used "jeep piloting skills" (aka running start) to get it out. Now everybody knows what kind of a kid I was in high school. Those were good memories!
Electrical and vaccume problems finally sent it to the junkyard.

Our first Jeep is the '98 XJ Cherokee I am currently driving. We bought it used about 9 years ago with 33,000 miles on the odometer. This morning, it just passed 286,000 miles. I'm hoping for 300,000 miles, which should occur sometime around October or November of this year--unless it goes to the Heep of Jeeps in the Sky.
My wife drives a 2003 WJ Grand Cherokee, with over 127,000 miles.
When we first looked at Jeeps, my wife didn't like the high step in so we didn't buy one. Needless to say, we are now a Jeep family.
It's a JEEP Thing, We DO Understand.

my first jeep was/is a 1984 CJ-7, bought it in 1997 when i got my drivers license.
i put a lot of work into it from lifts to tires to new sides, dash, and floors, a trainee, rear end, and engines. it's a great toy!!

I had a Jeep Liberty Limited 2006 in 2007 for like 5 months. I knew about the gas mileage, but it was worth than I was expecting, so I returned it to the dealer. That's how I got the Jeep bug

My first Jeep was the 1967 Jeepster. I bought it in 1986. It needed a lot of work, although I did not know it when I bought it. It was a manual tranny, which I had never driven but learned quickly. In spite of their generally poor construction and comfort Jeeps grow on you pretty fast. (if you are a Jeep person)

It seems equally divided between long time Jeep owners who were attracted by the fuel economy of the Patriot, and new Jeep buyers who are often coming to American cars from many different AWD foreign brands. Either way Jeep seems to have come up with a vehicle that appeals to a wide range of buyers.
