I searched the forums and see this is a common problem, but haven't been able to find any definitive solutions. There are links to a "Leak Detection Guide", but the links don't work anymore.

I have a 2011 Jeep Patriot with a sun roof and roof racks, and I have water leaking through my front dome light. I called the dealership but the earliest they can see me is December 1st! That's crazy, so I'm hoping to repair it myself.

Please help, thanks!

Not sure what to tell ya. Maybe check a few other places, but with everybody rushing to get their winter tires put on and whatever else, it could be tight.

i had this same problem. My dome light would leak on rainy days. It was like someone spilling a bottled water threw my #%## roof. Anyway, I removed both front pillars and both grab handles. With those items removed you are able to pull the front of the headliner down plenty enough to reach inside and disconnect the rubber drain tubes that are connected to the sunroof. I used an air compressor to blow out whatever it was that was clogged in those tubes. Had several storms in my area since I last did this and no leaks!!!

My 2010 Jeep Patriot had the same issue leaking dome light after it rains. I SOLVED THE LEAK by pulling the rear hatch seal and applying 3M 08008 Black Super Weatherstrip Adhesive. It seem to do the trick. We've had lots of rain in Virginia and not one drop from dome light.

Note: I ran a bead of adhesive along the top of hatch seal.

I bought the 1oz at advanced auto which was just enough for my application. (Amazon sells a 5oz tube for 9 dollars)

I've not had the problem, but I think others will benefit from your post.

BTW, I see this is your first post. Welcome! Please drop by the newbie threads, introduce yourself to the others, and tell us a little more about you and your Patriot.
