Plus could be a motor. In the past that little gate that opened to allow cold, or hot, air to flow was mechanical, you actually pushed a lever that opened the door, now they are all run by small electric motors.

If the problem is the engine t-stat, you'd notice a variance on the temp guage, I'd believe. Look elsewhere

Does the temp gauge come up to normal range? If so its not the thermostat. If only a little heat, then its the thermostat for sure.

How about the fan? The a/c compressor? If those don't work either, it could be a fuse.

I don't know about new Jeeps like our Patriots, but the heater controls in older Jeeps were vacuum operated. Could be a leaky vacuum hose.

All of the above suggestions are possible, but is it possible you put the wrong coolant in? You can't mix red and green coolants. If you add green coolant to red it will gel and clog the heater core, I speak from experience, it happened on my Dodge Ram, and a buddies S-10. The temp gauge will show the right temp, but you'll blow cold air from the vents.

Yes! I've witnessed this in a friend's S-10. they had to replace the heater core as it was too jammed up to clean--about $300!
