Attacking a parking lot pay box wasn't enough excitement?
Now you are going after the parking lot lights?

You're in Florida, so you can't blame it on black ice....

What happened Wade????? :wow:
Did someone rear end you in the lot?
Did you get distracted by a hottie?
Did the pole jump out at you?

Are you OK Wade?
I feel sorry for you
Thanks Pepe.. I was knocked senseless from the impact, sore back, scrape on the head, bigger knot as well... Great way to spend the last of my holiday money...

I'll be better before my Patriot will... So that's a good thing.... Thanks again...

Here's what happened... I was turning left in a parking lot heading to a row where my three passengers had parked their cars. I was returning them to their cars from a round of golf on the Naval Base as they can't drive their cars on the base. I never saw the post. Only one of the passengers said he saw it but only a split second before it was too late. I couldn't have been doing no more than 5MPH when I hit it. The wheels were turned to the left just enough that when I hit the post, it caught the wheel and snatched it hard left then bounced the Jeep hard right. I side swiped the driver's side wheel well up to the wheel before it bounced away from the post. The fold away mirror did just that, folding flat when it hit the post so it did not get damaged.

I wonder if the impact force was greater because the car was almost full...and besides, you cannot even imagine a post is in the middle of a parking lot.

Glad to hear you're ok Wade...

That sucks Wade. As long as you're not hurt, think of it as a life lesson. (although an expensive one)
How many times will you pull through a parking lot now without double checking for light poles and parking block bumpers.

Speaking of which....how WAS your golf game that day?

Seriously, a real bummer Wade. Maybe if you had some All Terrain tires on there, you would have just climbed the pole instead. :icon_rolleyes:

Ouch! Glad you are ok and hope your Pat is better soon.

New meaning to the term "Orange Crush"!

Ok....bad joke. :)
Thanks Anthony... That'll be the name of my Patriot from now on... The Orange Crush... ;)

In some states, light posts are required to be in a circle-shaped platform with a defined minimum size (usually 24" high by 20" in diameter). Guess that's not the case in Florida... Also, that light post is mostly light gray; I can see how it would camouflage into the background of a parking lot under the right light (i.e. when the sun is in just the right position on the sky). They ought to paint the bottom 5 feet of that thing with contrasting stripes to make it more visible.

Oh mannn, sorry to see and hear about what happened to you and your passengers bud. I hope there will be no lingering affects from your impact that knocked you for a loop. I trust (and hope) the other passengers were ok?
I was going to ask about how your game went but I guess it's a little irrelevant now..Just glad to see you were in good enough shape to drop off these photos of the Orange Crush! (Good call DMAG!)

Hope you're feeling better Wade (as well as your passengers).

Try to have a good Christmas anyhow sir..

So unlucky to hit the post with the wheel. The damage could be tiny only for a few inches. **** happens, don't feel bad abt it. As soon as you have it repaired, it will be just a bad memory.
