I know that in Freedom Drive II vehicles they are rated for 19" , but what about for those of us with Freedom Drive I? Is there a difference? Can any FDI owners speak for experience?
Thanks in advance!

Thats what I was wondering if you did that and some work on the seals you could get deeper.nice, i wonder if you can move all the breathers up on the FDI
You're doing it wrong. You need to go faster to have a proper bow wave which helps prevent water from entering the engine.I haven't gone through super deep water, but usually the deepest I try to go through is just to where it starts at my doors, which is probably around 14-15" since I've measure nearly 12" of ground clearance. The nice thing about our diffs is that the diffs themselves are tuck up nice and high so if they are submerged as AIC said the breathers are up higher (on FDII) I would imagine the breather's for FDI's wouldn't be super close to the diff themselves, but I can't confirm this.

Forgot to have my camera on for the first leg of this flooded road, it was just to the black rocker panel on my jeep. The video is the 2nd part which wasn't as deep.
I did hydrolock the motor this year (not in that video). My first thought was "YAY HEMI!!!!" But actually after changing the oil and cleaning the mud off the MAF sensor (yes it truly had a chunk of mud on it) it runs better today then it has in a long time. Just needed a bath I guess.I went in water like that yellow jeep. And my insurance had to pay 6500 for a new motor and heads.
I"m sure I will wreck my diffs or PTU with water, before I damage my engine with water ingestion. If you go slow, and don't cause any huge waves I can't see how you could ingest water unless you were going through really deep water, I would say anything over 36" and you'd be flirting with the devil. "m not saying it can't happen in less water because it has, but for my uses I can't see myself every hydro-locking my engineI went in water like that yellow jeep. And my insurance had to pay 6500 for a new motor and heads.
