i don't feel comfortable wheeling with wheel spacers. so i am looking for a new set of 16" rims. i want the rims to go ever so slightly past the fender for the "beefy" look. also if it could be hubcentric that would be great. if not i could just use a adapter. i am looking mostly for a set of steelies that i can weld a beadlock onto. here are the rims i am looking at now. any suggestions? thanks.

Welding a beadlock on doesn't seem very practical. Most beadlocks bolt on that way you'll be able mount tires. If you weld it on, you'll have one hell of a time mounting a tire.

Buy a set of wheels that has bolt on beadlocks.

I won't actually use the beadlock... I am mostly doing it for looks. Since it weld on the out side I can still mount the tire normally

the weight of steel rims is a little taxing on our little engines. Be prepared for a little bit of sluggishness. Have you considered spending the extra $40 per wheel and going aluminum alloy?

The spacers are good but I have heard stories when people are off roading and a spacer breaking. Since I am welding a beadlock on I want steel so I can weld it easier

That's what I was wondering because I'm about to buy a set but don't want to if it'll cause issues off-road
I"ve been running spacers since I've lifted my jeep...............so for the last 15000kms, hub centric 1.25" haven't had a single problem, I just check them to make sure they are torqued to spec every month or so.

I haven't had any issues.

Does anyone have a set of steelies that they are running on there patriot that are as wide as possible and stick oit a little past the fender?

Basically the widest I can get
I don't want to be overly critical of you choice, but are you looking for offroad performance? the thing with wide tires is that they usually end up weighing more. More weight and offroad = no good on a patriot.

To be perfectly honest other aspects of the MK are going to limit you before say the difference in width of a 235 tire vs 255 (just as an example)

AIC stuffed 245/65/17 in there with hardly any room to spare. I"ve wheeled with both 235/65/17, 225/75/16 and by accident (got into a dumb situation) with 225/60/18 Tread pattern and weight is far more important than the width. My current 235/65/17 tires weigh 34lbs, stock SRA's weigh 28lbs, so I have an increase in weight. When I had my 225/75/16 tires that weighed 40lbs+weight of wheels, it was noticeable and really hurt me offroad.

Now if you are going for looks as well, nothing wrong with that but be aware that you will have heavy tires, your acceleration is going to suffer as well as performance all around.

To get the sticking out past the fender look, wheels with a zero offset are going to do that or, factory steelies with wheel spacers. Also take a look at the 2013+ Jeep Compass 16" wheels, they are 16"(aluminum) and are similar to what are on the Liberty KK Jeeps.

I would look at 235/70/16, or 245/70/16 as a few members in the past have ran that size.
