Picked up this 1996 Grand cherokee for $1300 today. I had been hoping to find something with a lift, but the deal on this one was pretty much too good to pass up. It has everything my 1995 did and then some and I sold my 95 about this time last year for $2000.

1996 Grand Cherokee Limited 5.2L
147,000 miles
Heated/Memory Leather Interior, Power sunroof, Digital temp controls, etc.

It could use some floor mats, a really nice soak in some leatherique, and some bigger tires, but other than that it's a champ. It could also use a trip to the inspection station! You can see in the pictures that the front bumper has lost a little of the paint, but other than that it's just some minor scratches here and there. Considering I plan to make it a light wheeling rig and winter beater, I think it's perfect!

Looks to be in very good shape for very little money. I can see why you bought it.

now for some tint and some black paint so you can black that bitch out lol

looks way clean, tint it up

Congrats on your new ride, Gaze! It looks beautifuuuul, real bargain...
But tell me something: Did oil price reduction helped your choice??????????
I'm asking that, because I see Patriot sales droping in the future if fuel prices continue to be so low (and reach Joe Becker's predictions), because you Americans LOVE big trucks (who doesn't?) and Patriot was a compromise for many of you...

Oil price didn't really play a big part... I wanted to buy a toy for some light wheeling. I won't use it often enough to really feel the hit at the pumps anyway.

I had this one up until last winter...

I plan to build the new one to look similar to my brother's 95 ZJ Laredo...

I've made my shopping list already! I plan on using some christmas bonus money to treat myself to some of the parts!

I'm going with the Front to Rear spring swap and getting some RE 3.5" springs up front. Skyjacker shocks, Skyjacker steering stabilizer, and a rough country adjustable front track bar. That paired with some 265/75/16 BFG All terrains should set me back about $900 if I play my cards right.

Christmas bonus just bought me a lift kit and some new tires! 2.25 Budget Boost with Rubicon Express shocks and a few other items. 31" Mud terrains. I'm having a bit of an issue titling the vehicle (the guy who last owned it didn't sign the title and the dealer can't locate him), but hopefully that will work itself out on thursday when I meet wit the dealer. It should be ready for wheeling by the first of the year!

Quick trip to the Menantico Ponds right after putting the lift in.

One of my brother's buddies had his truck swamped last week and they had to leave it there... It's pretty much hydrolocked. Once they got it out they pushed it off into the woods out of the way.

And I broke my first part today! While trying to put it in 4Lo to get through a gully, I snapped the linkage that puts it in gear. Luckily I had a few pieces of wire laying around to tie it up and get it out of the way.
