i have been getting great feed back about my head lights ever since i made them. also, many people have wanted a pair made up for them but don't really trust sending $300 to a guy they never met to have him make them. so i am thinking of making an extra pair and when they are all finished i will sell them. what do you guys think? also if this works well i will be able to make the headlights order "exactly how you want them".

not knocking you or anything but it costs $300 for the head lights? just thinking out loud i guess. What you did is sweet though!

I'm concerned about the price, is that just the retrofit? Or anything else included? I'd recommend letting us know about everything that will be included.

What happens if something fails? Will you cover it? Will you supply the new housings or do people send you the new ones?

It seems a little steep?
But hey who knows.
Like creation said.. Whats included? will it be covered if somehow it blows or bulb gets burnt out someone etc..

Well I don't know what i'd be buying. Plus I could get HID/LED headlights with warranty for a good bit less. That's all im saying my friend. Just don't know what i'd be buying into. Of course i'd be interested in your set just don't know whats there.

The price isn't bad for the projector retrofit, but you have to consider shipping both ways, the housings, possible damages while shipping, down time, etc. There are a ton of factors in this. My lights were made locally, by a professional retrofitter and his prices reflected all the things mentioned. It even came with a 1 year warranty to take care of any problems. Which the retrofitter is about to open to fix a burnt out LED ring.

Lax, I want you to know I'm not trying to stop you. I'm just making sure you're properly planned for this. The lighting guy I used wasn't completely here when he started my lights. Now that I've addressed all this, his company is actually taking shape and making it's name.

Bulldog did the same thing when I started stickers, he made sure he addressed all the weak points I missed. It really helps, and I hope it helps you.

thanks for the help. i am not really trying to make money on this i just want to see these headlights on some other mks. i will be making a set that are all black with white hids and blue halos. then if anyone wants them i will sell them on the forum to them. I am mostly getting tired of people asking me to make them and i get everything ready and they just stop answering me.

Most people just don't want to spend money on custom headlights. When I tell people even a general price range of my headlights they just can't even handle the idea. They are a 1 off set of lights, nobody else has them. And that requires a price.

That's the biggest problem with retrofitting and the retrofitter who does the work, people don't want to pay for custom lights. I'm actually planning my next project with him now.

thanks, i might wait off on this then

fab up some pre-made plug and play 4-light tail lights. I bet some people would jump on those since they don't freak the CANbus out at all. I was thinking of that a while ago. I'm sure you can find a female receptacle to plug into the factory 3157 plug. Just don't solder the wires. Using solder with wires that are subjected to heat can weaken the solder joints after a while. Some red butt-connectors and good electrical tape should suffice.

I am interested for sure. Would the be identical to yours? Is LED or HID better for the headlights?

I would like to order a pair with white halos and a black background. Can you control when to turn the halos on and off and when to turn the projectors on separately? Also so you still have the hi and low beam?

big update. i will be purchasing the parts soon. it will have white halos, white H.I.D.s, and the headlights will be black truck bed liner. it will be able to plug into the stock wiring. i will even add an anti-flicker resistor with it. i have one in mine and the headlights work great. only problem is that since it is H.I.D.s a relay, wire harness and ballasts. the kit will come with a relay an ballasts but they are cheap. i can get good parts (the same i have in mine) but it will cost more. if you already have H.I.D.s in your patriot the new headlights will plug into the wiring from them.
