I have an 07 patriot with the six CD changer and it is lacking of an Aux port. I was wondering if I could do a direct plug and play with an REF when I have an RAQ (part# P05091175AB). Also if you can do it does it work well or are there problems?
any advice would be appreciated

so long as you grab a model with the knobs sticking out on the side, it will plug in, but will require a flash from the dealership ($50) Make sure it is from 2009 and older. In 2010 they revamped the interior and changed the wiring harnesses. Just remember the REF's only play audio discs, so if you had any mp3 cd's, they wont play.

I actually had the REF (2007) which is a single disc with no MP3 but aux. I have the boston acoustics sound system.

I bought a RAQ 6 CD player with no MP3 (2008) and plugged into my Jeep, direct plug and it worked, no need to flash or anything. The steering wheel button works fine also which was my concern.

I would think it will be plug and play and no need for dealer to flash.

Again, just telling you from my experience.
2007 Patriot and changed to a 2008 Radio from another Patriot.

Come to think of it, I was talking to the tech guys at chrysler and I think I remember they said they started coding the radios in 2010. Reason I found this out is because I had originally wanted to install a 2012 RES into my 08...
