Bought a 2007 Patriot today, came from a 2005 Trailblazer fully loaded. Granted the TB has more power and all the toys but gas just sucks. I owned a 1996 Grand many years ago and liked it. I was going to go with a 2005 Grand but kind of liked the mpg of Patriot. Have a few questions on mods:

Good decent price places to get a 2" or so lift?

Tire sizes bigger than 215 with modding stuff?

Aftermarket black housing headlights?

Does the Jeep Compass shift knob that says "Jeep" fit 2007 Patriot?

Does the stock stereo really suck that bad turning it up to 35 or it is just me?

I am thinking K N kit won't help hp and response increase?

Thanks all.
Jeff

Welcome to the community!

For the lift, since you have an older patriot check out the STU's coil lift. http://www.murchisonproducts.com.au/shop/patriotcompass-20”-suspension-system

Black headlights are a no-go unless you make them yourself/switch to projectors.

Shift Knob - Yes

Radio - Stock is pretty bad if your turning it all the way up.

K&N - It's not going to make a HUGE difference. Most people will argue if any difference at all.

There are only two lift options, RRO and the STU coil lift.

Swapping out the 6x9 speakers for better after market speakers will make a big difference, for not a lot of money.

New speakers will do wonders, new radio will do even more. Pro-Tip: the 1974-'07 Chrysler stereo wiring adapter at Walmart works with 2007-2009 Patriots(It wont say it does though), you can just cut off the other adapter plugs to save space. I am using one right now.

Thanks all. Friend of mine who owns a custom shop says if I got the kit he would charge between $250$500 to install. Should I look at maybe a size or two bigger tires?

If I change out the speakers first then head unit next month this its worth it?

I am not a fan of the headlights, any other lights fit?

Also does anyone know the Compass part # that has shift knob with "jeep" on it?

I have a stock patriot as in no power seats or toys that my Trailblazer had but I will save a lot in gas. lol. Maybe do some fog lights as well.

This was some years ago.

Part #5273590AB for $13.30 before tax.

I just called our local Jeep dealership. Retail it's $27.00 but my dad owns a body shop and it's on file there so it's $21.00. I guess not too bad for a simple mod. Maybe fill in the "Jeep" in red to match the outside paint. Was thinking of painting grill black with red engine grill. Paint badges black and fill in Patriot in bumper black. Of course tint windows since mine has no tint at all.

It's the simple things that make it your own. I did the same with my Yamaha V Star 1100 Classic motorcycle.

There used to be a guy on EBay that sold letters for the letters on the bumper. The ones I had were black, but they were also reflective.

My new Patriot does not have the bumper letters.

Will that knob fit newer model Patriots? It's listed as 2008, but I wouldn't mind one on my 2014. It looks longer (seems to travel down the shift shaft farther). I also wonder if the method of attachment or the shaft would have changed with the 6spd AT vs. the CVT.
