2.4, 5-speed manual here, the 4X2 version.

I have not had to fill up yet. I've got 283 miles on it as of this morning, and still have a hair over a quarter tank.

I haven't done the math, but with a 13.5 gallon tank, I'm fairly impressed. My Cherokee with the 18 gallon tank has never once done this many miles in town. Not even close.

4X2 Patriot fuel mileage

Hello Everyone,

I have checked my gas mileage three times since taking delivery of my 08 4X2, 5 speed manual, May 9th.

First highway trip to New Hampshire (250 miles round trip) with 8 miles on the clock, I got 29.5 MPG out of the box.

Locally around town with 242 miles between fill ups, 23.5 MPG.

Last weekend another trip to NH to see the grandchildren, 30.1 MPG.

Total speedometer miles to date, 762.

I'm good with the results, and this Pat is a wonderful machine.

Best regards,

Barry

I have 3300 miles on the Riot now..
4x2 Auto.
On the interstate @ 70 26.6 MPG on level ground
On the interstate @ 80 23.5 MPG on Level ground
On the highway @ 50 28.5 to 29.0 MPG
About 55 to 60 is the sweet spot for MPG
My Riot has ALOT of power in the 3000 to 4000 RPM range.

Variables - CVT, K&N panel filter - AC on

i have 24,615 as of today and the last few tanks range between 25.5 and 26.9 all highway best one was 27 not sure how i did that yet...

At a little over 1700 miles on my '08 4x4 Sport with CVT I have calculated 25 mpg each fill up except for this most recent one where I got 28!!

Well I have about 3500 miles on my PAT now and I seem to be getting 23.4-24.8 city. I was getting about 26 but I decided to try a higher tech gas. So I used mid grade for one tank and I got like 19.8 MPG. I have since gone back to the low grade gas and seem to be steady at 23.4-24.8

I like to consider myself an old school hyper miler but I am boggled at how some people are getting above 25mpg in this vehicle.

I got to 28 once but I sped to 80mph killed the engine and coasted for until 45mph just to check my on-board fuel gauge.

It upsets me when my 13 year old Sho, with 150 more hp and an extra 1000lbs eclipses my Pat's fuel economy by so much. I had purchased my Pat as a replacement for my 2005 Envoy but I find myself with less space, worse fuel economy and without the ability to tow.

wow I just realized my SHO is 13 years old.

Been watching my mileage pretty closely, as it's the biggest reason I bought a patriot. I have not had a tank yet that got less than 26.1 mpg. Average around town is a hair over 27. On the highway, always better than 30, with an all time one tank high of a little over 33. This came during a 1700+ mile road trip, during which I never once dipped under 30 mpg.

I am VERY happy with this little wagon's fuel economy. For what it's worth, my sis in law has the exact same truck as mine, 4X2, sport, no options. The only difference is that she has the CVT. She's barely over 20 in town, and about 25-26 on the highway.

gas mileage

I have an '08 4x2 sport, 2.4 liter CVT transmission and an air intake kit, 4500 miles on it. With the exception of trying out Amoco Silver gasoline (23 mpg) I typycally get 26 mpg around town and 28 freeway. My husband beat on it this weekend, took the RPM's close to 6000 while passing and it still got 27.8 mpg on that tank. I could not believe it. I love it- I finally have space to put everything and still get decent gas mileage. The air intake helps, but not much.

The cheap Jeep seems to have cheap tastes for fuel as well. You are the second fellow who said he got lower mileage with "better" fuel.

I've got about 2500 miles on my '08 Patriot Sport 4x4 auto. Hwy MPG has been 26-27 with the stock air filter. Changed to a K&N replacement and mileage dropped to 24-26 with the same driving conditions. I went a week like that and changed the filter back to stock and the mileage went back up. Go figure. On a slightly different topic, has anyone who opted for the $2.99 gas card received the card yet? I just got a letter today from Jeep five and a half weeks after applying for the card needing a confirmation on my address. The promo said to allow six weeks to receive the card. Called Jeep and got a rep in India or somewhere close. After asking to speak with a supervisor, I talked to someone I think was in the USA, and was told that they had no idea when I might get my gas card as they were having problems getting them issued. Maybe the $500 rebate was the best option after all.

Purchased the Patriot on June 26, 08, checked MPG with 300 miles on it and driving partly in town and highway got 28 MPG. I achived 29 MPG on the 07 Sebring with 1000 miles driving the same route. I traded the Sebring in on the Pat because the seats in the Pat were more comfortable and I am not a car person. Have not checked the Patriot highway mileage as of yet. The Sebring achived 38.3 MPG highway even though the Window Sticker had highway at 32 MPG.

Just got back from a 625km quick trip to Nova Scotia and back - 24.6 us mpg. I have a 4x4 CVT. Average speed 110 kph.

4x2 2.4L cvt. I am getting about 23 city and the two roadtrips have been about 27. Most of our driving is short trips and around cincinnati so I am very satisfied with the results. Our ford windstar that is now parked in the driveway got about 14.

Now if I could get my wife to not drive like she is in 2nd place in a nascar race it might be a little higher.

we are just back from a 1200 km trip with our Patriot 4x2 5 speed.

very happy with the 6.90 L / 100 - 34 mpg that we got.

We did very very conservative driving 62-63 miles per hour / 100 km on cruise control.

Usually with mix driving city / highway 50/50 I can get 29-30 mpg
