I hate rattles with a passion. Have someone ride with you in the passenger seat and have them listen.

Also, make sure nothing is loose in your glovebox, under the seat, etc. You'd be surprised at how much noise something can make on interior plastic. Just be patient and you'll find it.

 

Do you have snakes in Michigan??

 

i had a similar rattle, it was the crank for the window. it is naturally a little loose and my stereo made it more noticable.

 

I have 2009 with power windows and swear that every time i go over a bump that my drivers side door makes a sound like its not tight around the latch.

 

I've been noticing the EXACT same thing with my 2011 Patriot. I've only had the Jeep for 2 weeks. It's driving me nuts. Did you ever find out what it was? I'm bringing it to the dealer soon, I can't take it anymore!!

 

I had a rock inside my door, went up in the drainage holes after going through water.....

The only way to know for sure what it is, is to remove the door panel....just plastic clips and look around inside for anything foreign or anything broken or out of place.

Check for dead leaves stuck somewhere.

I had one stuck under the passenger mirror. It made a horrable noise at highway speed.

 

May be different with the Patriot, but with most cars you can get a flat tool and some masking tape.

With your flat tool, put in between the door panel plastic and the metalof the door and pry it gently, it will eventually pop off, just be careful of the plastic clips.

With the masking tape, tape over any metal painted surface you intend to pry against to help resist scratches from your tool.

Does the Patriot have drain plugs anywhere on the door like the Wrangler?

If so, you can pop those off and hose out inside the door to.

Note: Some vehicles have screws in the panel to remove first to, sometime they can be hidden under things like the door handles, so look for those.

I have the same rattle in my 11 that is driving me nuts. Generally at highway speeds. Starting to get to cold around here to rip it apart to check what it is.

 

I have it also in my 2010. What's weird is it happened after I upgraded the speakers. It may be the speaker wire tapping against the door. I am going to take it apart just to see.

 

I have a rattle on my driver side door.it sounded like the door latch was loose or something. Complain about it to the dealership and they replaced the weather striping around the window and door. Some of the annoying rattles went away, but there is still rattling coming from the B pilar...its annoying.

Every time I go on a road trip there is always another new rattle, creak, crack, buzzing,.kinds feels like the patriot is falling apart slowly......19000 miles

 

Same thing with my 2011. My driver side door rattles, it sounds like it i coming from where the door pin lock is at. Occasional i hear it from the pass side. ever since i upgraded my door speakers its even worse. seems to be a common issue with the 2011s

 

Resurrect! I have a 2013 and since new have had a rattle around the door lock plunger. The thing u push down to lock door with manual locks. I shot some lube down around the rubber washer on top and nothing worked. Lately I noticed it again with windows up and ac on- usually put windows down so don't hear it. I noticed that if I unlocked door the noise went away. Long story short I was able to twist/tighten the plunger by hand and the noise is now gone!!!! It was that easy. Did it while driving. Lol.

 

Both of my doors panels (passenger and drivers door) rattle. I'm driving a 2014 that only has 6000km's on it. Not really built all that solid IMO. My wife's Wrangler is much more sturdy and built much better
