Greetings

Are there any users with Patriots in the UK on this forum?

Hey there mmace999, I'm 20 miles north of ya at RAF Mildehall. Good to see some UK users on here!!! How are you enjoying your Pat?

Hiya, I know Mildenhall very well. Didn't think there would be anyone from the UK on here let alone from 20 miles away lol.

I love my car, so glad I bought one, it was just chance that I saw one in a showroom over in Peterborough and just fell in love there and then, I just had to have one, the car I had just taken for a drive was out the window.

I just love the more traditional Jeep styling, the squarer look, the round headlights everything. Great to drive as well, very enjoyable, performance worried me as I did have a Volvo S40 T4 so was used to something quite quick but I find the Patriot to be quite nippy, plus its a different driving style I guess.

So tell me about yours ? You have a US model I take it ?

Martin

Waiting

That just happens to be when I rotate back to the U.S. So I have to wait. I didn't want to get the light conversion done with the SVA and all that. So I just ordered it and and have it waiting for me in the States.

Ex Patriot

I'm English but live in France, used to live in Kimbolton near Huntingdon when I was in the UK. I want to buy a Patriot as soon as the are available here in France.

Tell me about your UK spec Patriot
Are you happy with it?
What don't you like about it?
Is it as economical as they say?

Ciao, AGOG:)

Hi

I pick my Patriot up on Monday 3rd September; I live in Barnsley, South Yorks.

Trading in my Kia Sorento - nice car, and great for towing but not economical enough. Be interested in comments from other users regarding what mpg they get from theirs.

great. drove from cairnryan to newcastle and back the following day 2 days after i got the Pat and very impressed. comfy seats..good driving position

RogerN the drive is great. Feels solid and stable on motorways. I've not taken it much over 90, maybe touched 100 by accident :O and the car is very confident.
I got 40mpg on a reasonably far journey which included a good portion of A roads.

I read that negative report and was a little surprised. Granted they were driving the petrol CVT version which is, I believe an aquired taste. Why they didn't drive the diesel which is a better drive, I don't know.
The majority of the reviews that I have read have been mostly positive with a few concerns raised over the quality of the interior and engine noise. A good review appeared in the Guardian which tends to go for the more tongue in cheek appproach.

Mine's on order, I've gone for a Bright Silver 2.0 CRD Limited. I was hoping to pick it up this weekend but there is a chance that it might not be ready until Tuesday of next week.

I'm in Bristol by the way :)

Great pics!

How poor do you think the interior is, say compared to a Rav or CrV?

Here in France the New VW Tiguan is only slighty more Euros than the Pat Ltd, the VW interior is (I think) superb.

With all the rumours and upheavel at Chrysler what sold you on the Patriot?
I was 99% going to get one this March but now I'm seriously thinking about not buying one and choosing the VW Tiguan, it just seems better value for money to me. Let me know your thoughts please.

Enjoy your new Pat! :)

Just gor back from a 500 mile round trip - not exactly cross country stuff but a real cross section of driving - from motroways to Heathrow, broken road surfaces at a marina building site near Southamption plus carrying two big Swedish guys who are my business associates.

We all loved the drive - the diesel ensgine is a dream, the stearing very light making parking very easy. A really enjoyable drive

The interior is just fine in my opinion. Yes I know that a lot of reviews complain about the plastic, but to be honest it suits me fine seeing as I have a young daughter...I can wipe it clean. The leather was a good investment too, it looks great with the silver paintwork.

I looked at a load of alternatives, all more expensive, less reliable off-road and more to tax. I went for the diesel version as it has a lower emission figure than all of the others.

I wasn't sold on the Tiguan, and at the end of the day the CRD has a 2.0 diesel engine that is actually a VW engine, and someone also said that it uses a VW gearbox.

Over the last couple of days I have done 400 miles in it and it was a lovely comfortable ride...so far I am loving it. :)

I must say the Limited does look more plush than the Sport and the steering wheel in the former must make all the difference as I find mine quite plasticy.
I've got a Land Rover Freelander II as a courtesy car at the moment and it feels much more upmarket inside than the Patriot. But at ÂŁ5k more on the price you would expect so. When I first got the Freelander II I was really impressed, nicer interior much more toys (Bluetooth phone connection, reverse sensors, better plastics and touches) but after 3 days I think I actually prefer the Patriot , just because of the looks and it feels quicker. The blacked out windows and boxy looks really do it for me. Line them side by side the Landy looks more expensive, but more of a housewive's school run car, whereas the Patriot looks more distinctive, purposeful and turns more heads...and does better MPG!
