Does anyone know of a plastic trim kit to upgrade the interior of an 08’ sport? All i can find is vinyl film and im not sure if it would be cut for my manual locks and windows either. Im looking to add red inside to match the exterior and give it a sporty feel inside.

I don't know of any plastic trim kits for any year Patriot. I used vinyl wrap in mine to get rid of the all black look. It turned out really well and was actually quite easy. It was my first time ever using vinyl wrap. It took me pretty much all weekend because I removed each part I wrapped from the car in order to wrap it. I used Vvivid vinyl, a vinyl wrap squeegee, an X-Acto knife (and about a dozen #11 blades), and a heat gun. I cleaned all parts prior to wrapping with 90% isopropyl alcohol. It's been 4 years since I did it and it still looks like new.

I also watched about a dozen how-to youtube videos before I started.

That sounds stressful, the kit I found comes with all precut pieces for about $70. Yours ended up looking really nice. Did you have any problems with trapped air bubbles or getting it to line up right?

I didn't find it stressful at all, but I'm quite familiar with taking car interiors apart. I bought a roll of vinyl for about $20 and still have half of it left. I cut the pieces slightly larger than I though I needed, peeled tha backing off, heated with the heat gun and applied, heating and stretching as needed. The only PITA area was the front corners of the arm rests. For areas where there's a cutout, like the cup holders or where the switches go in the arm rests, after the vinyl was on the piece I heated up the area of vinyl that was getting cut out, then pushed it inward so that the film would sort of wrap around the corners, then used the knife to cut it out. For the gear shift bezel, I wrapped the whole piece, used the squeegee edge to trace around the edges of the chrome trim and gear indicators, then carefully cut along those lines. I really didn't have any issues with trapped air bubbles as the vivid vinyl is designed to not trap air.

To see everything I wrapped, check out my showcase:

Wow, doesn’t sound too bad to me. I imagined it like trying to surgically apply a sticker on a lego so thats what i meant by stressful, im definitely gonna have to look into this option
