Looking at the specs the specs the power handling is about the same between the two. The kicker has higher sensitivity and lower frequency response which is a plus , but the rockford has shallower mounting depth.
But in the end it comes down to which speaker sounds better to you.

 

that's a very good question?? I have had success with rockford in the past, but I want to try kicker in the patriot! they are both top of the line brands and you will enjoy either, sorry i'm of no assistance. keep me posted though.

I got the RF's. They are definitely better than the stock speakers but I had to turn the bass up all the way. They fit perfectly without any cutting.

I have installed the R-Fs in my 2011 Pat on day two... I like them.

 

What Radio do you have? The 130, 230, 430?? I was wondering if the power outage is different between those models. I'm just about ready to buy a Patriot and I know I'll be replacing the speakers and I want a stock radio that can give them a decent amount of juice.

 

How come crutchfield.com shows both the Kicker DS693 & Prime R1693
as not fitting my 2010??

 

Because they lie...

 

I like bass but not so much that its overpowering. I enjoy the crisp sounds of the mid and high levels. Which of the two would fit the bill ??
