Do you guys have problems viewing out the front windshield? If I am at a stop light I have to lean forward to be able to see the light. I measured the windshield and it's only 26'' compared to other similiar vehicles which are all above 30''. I love the Jeep but leaning forward is killing my neck. I even went to look at a Ford Escape today. Is there any way around this?

If you think the Patriot is bad ( Although it never really bothered me ) , you want to try the Dodge Caliber, narrow windscreen & a dashboard the size of a small aircraft carrier. Also thick pillars that a truck could hide behind. Yep the Pat was never perfect , but there is worse out there!!

Are you being serious???? Never had such a bad vehicle for sunlight, the visors are a joke and the tinting on the top of the windscreen is laughable in that it doesnt actually do anything apart from block a small amount behind the mirror....and I am 6' 3" so its not like I'm not tall enough!

Up here in Toronto our traffic lights are on the far side of the intersection for each direction of traffic so its never been a problem. When I've ventured to the US (not with the Riot) I did notice some traffic lights were situated on the near side of the intersection and this would definately create a problem with the Patriot. I've also seen 1 four way traffic signal dangling right in the middle of the interesction supported by cables. This I suppose wouldn't be a problem for the Pat either.

Any comments?

My xB was similar, so I was used to it. The intersections here are really wide, so it's not a problem for me. If the intersections are really narrow where you are, you would have to crane your neck forward to see the light. Maybe try stopping just a little further back?

I went from a pick-up to the Pat. The first time I test drove one I felt like I was inside a coffin with wheels. I couldn't even reach the front windshield to wipe off the fogging.

Yes, I am 6'4" and have to lean forward to see the light when I'm first in line at the redlight. Pain in the arse.

I haven't had any issues with the windshield and seeing traffic lights and such. And I am 6'3" so I sit up very high so it would be worse for me than a shorter person.

I have noticed a lot of blind spots when trying to change lanes however and the rearview mirror is basically useless.

Well, the Commander's windshield is nearly vertical and I'd say under 20" tall. The CJ/Wrangler is vertical and can't be 14" high. I guess, stop farther away or move the seat foreword and/or down(if you have a power seat). (or look out of the sun roof) Since I'm short, I've never encountered any visibility problems with the Patriot.

We don't have "side redlights" where I live. My seat is all the way down and I can't move it forward or my knees hit the dashboard. I guess some areas have bigger intersections where you stop further back, but where I am if I'm the first in line and pull up to the mark on the road, I usually have to lean forward to see the light.
