Quick question guys.

Is there a way to install skid plates in an FD2 Patriot 4X4?

I know some people did it on their own but I have minimum car knowledge so I'd prefer to have it done at a dealership or service centre. Do you guys know what's the cost for Canada or US?

Thanks a lot. The issue is that I have no mechanical experience and I don't feel comfortable drilling. I could have somebody who knows to do it though.

Is there a skid plate that I can attach without drilling anything?

The FD2 skid plates attach using "rivnuts." The mounting locations are predrilled on the FD1 patriot, but you'll need to install rivnuts and the correct bolts to hold the metal skid plate in place. The FD1 patriot only has a plastic splash guard, the mounting location that hold the plastic guard up are different then the metal skid plate. It's not super hard to install once you have all the rivnuts, but keep in mind using a rivnut install tool makes install much easier. I was able to install my front skid plate and both gas tank skid plates in about 45 minutes using the correct tool. Before that it took me about 20 minutes just to install a single rivnut using the "2 wrench" method. The problem is leverage, under the patriot you just can't get any.

Good luck!
